25.01.2022 There are plenty of job opportunities out there at the moment... Take a look. You may find your new direction.

24.01.2022 Critical Stages would normally present a theatre event in Temora each year, but due to covid, this year will be a little different. 7:30pm AEST | 5.30pm WST | 10am BST Wednesday, 19th August... This year's project is "Come From Where I Am - Australia", with the first volume of all-new stories about the places that shape us - our home towns - screened for the very first time! Hear from Critical Stages CEO Chris Bendall before watching these compelling new tales, read by the writers who crafted them. Deeply personal, and utterly unique, these stories reflect the history and belonging each author feels for the place they call home. Included in this first volume: James Elazzi Western Sydney / Tharawal Country: a story of treasure, music and discovery. Alysha Herrman Berri / Murray & Mallee Country: a reflection on a young person’s choice to build a life on the land they belong to, told through their love of fantasy, community, and South Australia’s Riverlands. Peter Matheson Maclean / Yaegl Country: a love letter to a town where rural resilience is echoed through bushfire, familial inspiration and shared history. The live premiere will be available on Facebook for just 24 hours after the screening, where it can then be streamed from the Screening Room on the Critical Stages Touring website, and on the YouTube channels of Critical Stages and our project partner Paines Plough. 7:30pm AEST | 5.30pm WST | 10am BST Wednesday, 19th August

21.01.2022 The beautiful Lake Arbortree is located on the outskirts of Ariah Park in the Temora shire. Visit it when you take a day trip to the quaint village that will leave a big imprint on your memory. Ariah Park may be small in size but, boy, it packs a punch. Take a day trip and wander the newly refurbished Coolamon Street. Take in the golden fields of canola on your drive and keep an eye out for the lambs as we head into lambing season. Stop into the Ariah Park Hotel for lunch and some good old fashioned country service. But, the best part of Ariah Park is the locals. You won’t find a friendlier community than the Ariah Park residents, so stop and have a yarn, learn about the history, and enjoy a true country experience in Ariah Park

We are pleased to say Roxy has now taken up residence with her forever family, and is living the good life. You can contact Temora Animal Rescue for information on adopting a pet.

09.01.2022 The Access and Equity Committee aims to empower an informed and proactive approach to the development of strategies to make safer, more accessible and inclusive places within our shire for everyone. Assisting Council, the community, the government and non-government agencies to make informed and practical decisions, the Committee is made up of Council representatives and interested members of the community. The Committee embraces the sentiment that equitable access to Council...’s services, building and infrastructure should be available for all community members within the Temora Shire area. By forming a well-versed committee, they develop holistic plans that consider the needs of people with a disability, resulting in good access for everyone. The Access and Equity Committee’s role is to: Assist Council to identify barriers that may prevent the participation in community life by any member of the community Share information and keep members up to date with policy and good practice for a safer, more accessible and inclusive area Provide input and advice in development, implementation and review of Council’s strategies, policies and practices Provide input to improve equitable and independent access to Council’s facilities and services Provide input that assists Council in keeping the broader community informed and engaged regarding the needs of people of all disabilities. At the last meeting it was decided that the Committee will meet quarterly on Council Committee Meeting days which fall on the second Tuesday of the month. The Access and Equity Committee will next meet on Tuesday, 10th November 2020. This meeting will be the Annual General Meeting. If you are interested in finding out more about the Access and Equity Committee, please contact Belinda Bushell at Council on 6980 1100.
