21.01.2022 As part of the First 5 Forever in Hinchinbrook grant, the Hinchinbrook Shire Library is delivering 12 culturally significant indigenous themed Storytime sessions. These sessions are aimed at encouraging indigenous focused early learning support for local families of the Hinchinbrook Shire. The Hinchinbrook Shire Library is focused on delivering innovative and creative new programs which will benefit all members of the shire. ... The book this week will be ‘Tiddalick the Frog Who Caused a Flood’ by Robert Roennfeldt. The related craft this week is a pop up frog card. Children will enjoy creating this wide-mouthed amphibian! 20.01.2022 MOTION PICTURE COLLAGE WORKSHOP Join Wanderlust exhibiting artist Rebecca Lewis in a Motion Picture Collage workshop brought to you by Flying Arts Inc Regional Arts Fund. In this workshop you will learn how to bring a collage to life using nothing but a smart phone or tablet and some simple animation techniques. The workshop will commence with building a simple layered image and then a story developed using basic movement to be captured on your device.... 13.01.2022 Families are invited to attend the First 5 Forever Baby Welcoming Ceremony and Family Fair from 10.00am Friday 17 April 2020 at the TYTO Conference and Events Centre. Enjoy a fun filled morning with petting zoo, pony rides, arts and crafts, reptiles and scrumptious food. Every baby that has arrived in the community over the past twelve months will receive a Welcoming Certificate, sapling and gift bag. Parents can plant their sapling to commemorate their new baby and watch as... they both grow, providing for the future prosperity of the Hinchinbrook Shire. 12.01.2022 Temporary Facility Closure TYTO Regional Art Gallery Residents are advised that the TYTO Regional Art Gallery will be closed from 4.00pm Sunday 8 March and will reopen at 6.30pm Friday 17 April 2020 in order to carry out necessary maintenance.... This maintenance will ensure the gallery space is fresh and vibrant for all upcoming exhibitors and visitors. As a result of this necessary closure, the Fifth Hinchinbrook Birdlife Art Awards Opening Night will now be held on 17 April 2020. The Exhibition will run from 17 April 2020 until 24 May 2020.
