07.01.2022 The mighty Darling River is 2740km's long and gets its unusual coloring from the clay based river bed. Part of the Murray-Darling basin, the Darling River is fed primarily from the summer rains of southern Queensland and makes its journey south-west across the state to Wentworth where it joins the Murray River and continues to Lake Alexandrina and into the Southern Ocean in South Australia. Make the journey to the Wentworth Region, you won't be disappointed. ... #VisitWentworth #DarlingRiver #VisitNSW #LoveNSW #SeeAustralia These great photos are credited to Merryl Kemp Photography

01.01.2022 We never get sick of the view, the sunsets over Gol Gol and the Murray River are spectacular. Located on the Murray, not far from the now thriving regional centre of Mildura across the River in Victoria, the town is historically significant because it was once an important coach stop. Coaches were vital for communication and transport in the Wentworth Shire, and were also the carriers of the Royal Mail. During the dry months they compensated for the loss of navigable waterwa...ys for the riverboats by putting on extra services for passengers. The Gol Gol Inn was an important change and up to 200 horses could be found on the common at any one time. It was around the inn that the town grew. A wharf also added vitality to the township. Today, Gol Gol is a modern rapidly developing, close-knit community based on light industry. #VisitWentworth #VisitNSW #VisitGolGol #MurrayRiver #Sunset Photo credit to Visit Mildura
