24.01.2022 No. I don't do same day slide shows ! It has nothing to do with setting up a projector or downloading the images. It has everything to do with allowing the camera to make decisions which will compromise the final files. For more on this, read my article at: http://www.visualaccents.com.au/2014/04/shooting-in-the-raw/
23.01.2022 A big welcome to Kylie & Shane, arriving in Melbourne to make final plans for their wedding at Ballara Receptions in early 2015. They were all rugged up for a lifestyle photography session in a local park before going back to a much warmer Darwin.
22.01.2022 Last Friday I photographed Hayley & Adam’s wedding at Immerse in the Yarra Valley. If the story was in the detail, there was a lot to take in. The couple had arranged hanging baskets of flowers, personalised cushions, named tags on drink bottles, memory boards, chalk boards, yard games for guests to play, and the list just keeps going on. An absolutely unique and amazing night was had by all.... As a photographer, it’s important to recognise that every detail is a part of the wedding story. Photographing the details with as much care as the bridal portraits is an essential part of communicating what the couple had planned and enjoyed. No matter who is responsible for taking the photographs, make sure they know the significance of the details, and plan to capture them as treasured memories. Thanks Hayley and Adam for an amazing day.
21.01.2022 Beautiful wedding on a perfect day.
20.01.2022 Photographing details often reflects important elements of the story. Sharon and Lawrence’s wedding cake was decorated with brightly coloured leaves, reflecting the time of year. The rest of the autumn story was found in the reception surrounds of Poets Lane which is surrounded by Autumn leaves at this time of year. Choosing the month of May to get married was no mistake, as the couple were absolutely taken with the venue covered with colour. Finding themes and reasons couples choose locations is always an important part of photography. Thanks Sharon and Lawrence for a great day.

17.01.2022 Beautiful day in a beautiful location. Congratulations.
13.01.2022 With light fading fast and temperatures dropping, most would head for the nearest café or arrive early at the reception. Adele and Mitchell headed to the city to share some favorite places with their bridal party . With time slipping fast, just one more spot next to the Scots Church in Collins Street was explored before heading off to the reception. If time permits, plan to go where you want and enjoy the experience.
12.01.2022 How Rhiannon & Alex managed to make their wedding a surprise to everyone is nothing short of a miracle. They also included the location of their daughters first birthday party, an amazing sunset and a last minute decision to visit the Arthurs Creek cemetry. With rain for most of the day, it would have been easier to leave a few things out. Thank you so much for going the extra mile and having no regrets at the end of the day.
06.01.2022 Images which humanise, give us a glimpse into the personal lives of people and tell us more about who they are. Most images of this sort are said to be candid, where the subject appears unaware of the camera. They usually become favourites and are the most treasured. Capturing someone’s personality requires looking for the right opportunity, or encouraging the opportunity to arise. Looking for opportunity is engaged observation, but encouraging an opportunity requires activ...e participation, yet the ability to be almost invisible at the same time. Listening to wants and likes, directing, setting something in motion, and then waiting for a moment to happen. A photographer with demonstrated people skills and extensive experience is the best person to enable this. Before entrusting an enthusiastic friend with a significant event, consider the type of images you’re wanting and their ability to deliver. 02.01.2022 OK, so these don't look like a B&B. They're some extra pics I took whilst wandering the property
