18.01.2022 Huge turnout and support for our first remote Visual Friends Australasian meetup earlier this week with nearly 40 happy faces from literally all across the globe dialed in and ready to play Visual Friends facilitator and coach Samantha Guy hosted the event over Zoom on Creating a Visual Agenda. Kicking off the session with the group learning some elements of a ‘visual alphabet’, then using these elements to create some basic icons, add frames, and voila! All the magic you ...need to create a visual agenda is in your hand There were many great shares of the final creations. 09.01.2022 In Germany, the government has announced that they will invest 5 billion Euro into the digital transformation of our school systems. The only problem: Not many teachers learnt how to create online lessons on an iPad. Not many know how to use a document camera to run online classes. Today Visual Friends are running our Visualisation For Teachers class again. In only 4 hours they get their first insight into online education. 04.01.2022 Show and tell is curtesy of our first Tasmanian student, Bronwen Sharples, an Innovation Manager for TasWater, who was in our first virtual live bikablo fundamentals training. Firstly, I wanted to be able to engage and communicate with people in a better way. At our company, where things are run traditionally, we have a lot of documents, text and templates. But a lot of people we deal with are field operators who don’t respond well to thick manuals. I find that if I communic...ate in a more creative way, people start thinking and interacting differently which results in better innovation. Secondly, I wanted to bring visuals into our documentation. We are an organisation of strategies, visions and big documentation which can be hard to read. I wanted to present our content in a more bite-size and anaesthetically pleasing way. The online option was perfect for me in terms of time and convenience. I felt quite empowered to have done the course. Being able to produce something that big and with that much impact in only two days was amazing. We are currently driving a cultural change in TasWater and this is perfect for us. I have already done three posters in the first week after completing the course. We are also sending some to the Executive Management next week. I’m so happy I have found Visual Friends.
