23.01.2022 Somewhere I would rather be! A little like this woman. Sometimes she sat and let her mind go blank and her eyes go out of focus, so that she watched the slow, jerky movements of the motes that floated across her pupils. They amazed her as a child. Now she saw them as a reflection of how she moved, floating listlessly through the world, occasionally bumping into another body without acknowledgment, and then floating on, free and alone.

19.01.2022 Lake Hume. Again comes away with the win. This has slotted into the My Favourite photo position. Driving up over a mountain on a dirt road, the sunset just turned it in for this shot. I couldnt get the drone up quick enough. This is an 18 shot stitched panoramic Bethanga - Lake Hume, Victoria Shot with: MavicPro 2... These are some of my favourite I have ever taken... Thoughts?... *PS - Will be keeping this spot to myself for a little while*

03.01.2022 I have been to this paradise many times. I have also been lucky enough to bring a lot of other people along with me on our little tours to these islands. Needless to say, most have loved the views and the scenery, but for the amazing human I am travelling with right now, who is also one of my closest friends from Denmark, the reaction has been a very very different one. The beauty on the islands we visit is endless. Around every corner there are magical views, there is spect...acular food, the most happy and patient people, the softest sandy beaches, the very best sunsets and afternoon storms, but more important the feeling that there is more to living than just the slavery of 9-5 and everything that comes along with that, that we all (or most) must endure to sample just a little piece of a place like this. I have had countless candid moments with Tessa where I have stood back and simply observed her reaction, and it took me a while to read. Nearly everyone I have been lucky enough to bring here is verbal. Communicating the beauty they see with words and smiles and the occasional oh fu*k! Tessa was/is very different. She has embraced every view, sunset, location, experience in relative silence. To sit back and watch her realise she is actually standing where she is standing and the grounding, the hit of reality, and the amount of sheer wonderment that these islands bring? Has been nothing short of breathtaking to me. It isnt a stretch to say she has had a severe emotional connection to her surroundings here, as well as the people, the culture, and sheer beauty. I am a proud man, being that I was able to help her in that journey. This photo was candid. In the midst of one of these moments. Lost in thoughts and emotion. Perhaps trying to put into words what the place is making her feel. She doesnt have to share those words. Her body language and ability to just get lost from a minute to hours...as stated above? Is incredible to watch. New tour in June this year if you are interested and please dont forget to donate to the fundraiser we are holding. Check out page for details. See more

02.01.2022 A nice afternoon spent looking down from above!
01.01.2022 I had done some amazing portrait shoots prior to the COVID lockdown. All of which I will start posting here amongst my landscapes! They began with Tara. The only I can describe her is unapologetically happy. A smile never leaves her face so it was exceptionally hard to get photos of her sans smile!!! Thankyou Tara... for being up for a trek into a No Trespassing zone
01.01.2022 This is one of many shoots I have had in the past few weeks...it was held in the middle of Lake Mokoan, just outside Benalla in Country Victoria. It was belting rain and cold. Really cold. I was in a warm van with four layers on, then when I arrived at our destination. I put on an extra huge rain jacket. Put the hoodie from my jumper over my head then the hoody from my jacket over the top of that and I was ready. ... And warm. And dry. Enter Shannon and her faithful dog Frank. Obviously Frank being a dog...he didnt give a damn and off he went. Shannon? Was wearing a summer maxi dress, and gumboots. I kinda felt over dressed when she said she was going barefoot and proceeded to take the boots off! Im sure my eyes widened and the look of are you completely mad? on my face was evident. But Shannon, with her massive warming smile, just started walking. Over gravel, onto long wet grass, through mud and through a deadwood forest. Bare foot. In a maxi. And its 5 degrees. Not only did she smile the whole time? She chatted and laughed and skipped, and got happy mad at Frank when he got in frame. She got drenched. But that smile never left her face. She couldnt feel her fingers or toes. But the smile never left her face. So you can imagine how hard it was for her when I said I wanted a serious face for some of the photos! Shanni was an absolute pleasure to meet and photograph, and will feature again in the near future. Thanks Shannon Tharratt, I hope the feeling has returned to your toes! See more
