19.01.2022 Please sincerely pray for Derek Ho,he had a massive heart attack,I cannot say anything about the outlook in respect for his family, but please just pray.

18.01.2022 As a Paramedical Science student I am becoming more concerned and convinced that public access to AED’s (Automated External Defibrillators) is not only a good i...dea, it is vital. Access to these life saving devices is presently limited which I feel is unnacceptable and I intend to do something about it. If you have ever completed a provide first aid, previously senior first aid course, you will have used An AED. It’s the box with sticky pads that is usually green, blue, red, yellow or orange. It is designed to look like a toy because it is literally child’s play to operate. When you open the box and push the power button a voice instructs you simply, quickly and safely what to do from start to finish to save somebody’s life. School children are learning how to Incorporate AED’s into life support classes at school and I think that is fantastic. If you find somebody who has no pulse and is not breathing, it is very likely that they are dead or soon will be without assistance, and that means high quality CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) Early defibrillation (This it what an AED does), a clear airway and sufficient air. You will of course have called for urgent assistance. 000 in Australia, 911 in the USA, 112 in the United Kingdom Here is an international list thank you to wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org//List_of_emergency_telephone_numb If you, your friends and family or an organisation you work for do not at least have access to an AED which truthfully everybody should, please let me know and I can organise it for you. Yes there will be a cost as they don’t come for free, though I wish they did. You may wish to share the cost amongst a group of you. They are tax deductible for organisations or self employed people who require one or more. I am talking about saving lives which does not seem to concern some people until it is somebody close to them who needed an AED did not have one and wished they did, then they will understand why I am sharing this with you. Please, if you would like to know more or if you are interested in learning life-saving first aid please stand me A message and I will assist you as much as I can. You can make a epic difference to the lives of many, especially those close to you. Thank you for reading and I would love to hear from you. Peter McCallum Epic Surf Group [email protected]

15.01.2022 I remember this set up.

15.01.2022 We are flattered by the recent idea to honour firefighters with coloured ribbon on house fronts.. but we’d like to say a little something. Whilst it is true th...at there have been thousands of firefighters in some horrific conditions battling to save people, animals and buildings, we simply cannot and should not take the credit for what is truly a mix of superheroes from all services. We couldn’t do our job safely if it weren’t for our guardian angels at NSW Ambulance that have assisted in rendering help to firefighters and victims. We couldn’t have faced the fires alone without our heroes at NSW Rural Fire Service who have battled tirelessly and given up their own wages to help volunteer The incredible work of NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service who have helped care for animals and their assistance with fighting fires The mammoth effort of NSW SES workers that have worked tirelessly to restore safety to communities and clear hazardous debris The heroic men and women in NSW Police Force that have assisted in many mammoth roles including helping evacuate and direct traffic and respond to incidents The amazing people from Defence Australia who have supported all agencies from air, land and sea in numours rolls and capabilities. The teams from Forestry Corporation of NSW working extremely hard fighting the fires and managing over 2million hectars of state forest. Our interstate agencies that have come to help and battled their own disasters at home The partners, children, friends and families of all firefighters that had to say farewell with fear and pride to a loved one and hold down the fort whilst they were gone The many every day heroes that have pushed for donations for victims and donated time, equipment or money to assist those in need The wonderful unseen warriors at our communications centers who have the difficult job of determining where resources need to go when resources really needed to be everywhere at once The people from all over the world that have come to help from NZ, Canada, USA & more The executive managment team and incident controllers at Fire and Rescue NSW who have helped allocate resources and ensure our safety, and of course the incredible RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons and his team who has gone above and beyond in doing everything possible to keep everyone informed and safe and showed true leadership The behind the scenes people who update apps, warnings and Facebook pages who have worked tirelessly to keep information coming in times of need This is by NO means an exhaustive list, please forgive us for not mentioning everyone. We are sure there are SO many more people to thank, so we’d like to leave this post open for all to share and tag someone individually or an organisation that is doing incredible things and let them know we all appreciate it.
