25.01.2022 I have run into a number of people who have said "must book in for a massage" - this is the week to do that as I am flying out to London next week to present at the International Congress of Naturopathic Medicine. And do we want to be consuming Himilayan salt - a whole other gamut of issues there, oh and the caffeine levels...please people there are health risks with every product sold that makes a claim. These medicines h...ave names that end with sartan, including valsartan, irbesartan, candesartan, losartan and olmesartan. A number of these medicines have been found to have unacceptable levels of impurities - specifically N-nitroso compounds. N-nitroso compounds are commonly found in low levels in a variety of foods, particularly smoked and cured meats, as well as in some drinking water and in air pollution. Long-term exposure over many years can increase an individuals risk of developing cancer. If you are taking blood pressure medicine that ends with sartan medicines do not stop your treatment without first consulting a doctor or pharmacists. Suddenly stopping blood pressure medicines can pose a greater and more immediate risk to health than potential contamination with N-nitroso compounds.
