20.01.2022 22 years ago today, 2 baby faced kids chose to say "I do" and stay with each other forever. Brad was 21 and Reeda was 19 Fun Trivia:... One of them was in the Air Force for over 20 years One of them could never have been in the Air Force because they think being told what to do all the time is stupid. One of them started their own pet care business. One of them is not a fan of animals. One of them has completed 3 marathons. One of them will only run if someone is chasing them, and even then they may just start crazy dancing to distract the person chasing them instead. One of them prefers savoury food. One of them would eat all the cakes they could, and runs so that they can eat more. One of them often says "I've had an idea". One of them dreads the other saying "I've had an idea". One of them thinks they are hilarious and has a repertoire of jokes they constantly try out on the other. One of them dreads the other trying out their jokes on them. Now these not so baby faced "kids" have a new adventure working together in a business that they hope will help change many people's lives. Over 22 years there have been many challenges, adventures and revelations. Through these a deep friendship and partnership has been created. They each admire the gifts and talents evident in the other and have seen them develop and shine in them over the years. They are thankful to God for bringing them together when they were just 15 and 17 (and for bringing them back together 2 years later after one of them broke up with the other after 4 months cause they were annoying). It has been a journey that they couldn't have imagined sharing with anyone else.

10.01.2022 It's the simple things in life that matter the most. A couole of months ago Brad and I finally planted our planter boxes that we have had for years, I mean lots if years . We have made many many excuses about how hard it was or how we didn't know what we were doing.... Then last year hit and we realised we needed to learn more about self sufficiency. Providing food for our family so external issues don't have such an impact on us. We have also decided it's time to move to a home that has land so we can start learning and implementing permaculture and more self sufficiency. This is a scary move! We are NOT farmers, but we both grew up going to family farms. We are very uneducated in this area but we are teaching ourselves and learning. We want this for our family and we want to teach oir kids these skills. We are learning to be urban farmers. As I walked past our planter boxes this morning I was like a little kid as I discovered all the cucumbers growing . We have never grown cucumbers before! I even saw bees buzzing around the flowers. We have been eating the lettuce for the last week and watching it continue to grow and produce. Some things haven't done as well, but that provides learning and an opportunity to improve. It really is the simple things that bring the most joy and seeing our little plants grow and turn into food bearing crops - so good! This is what living life to the full is about.
