23.01.2022 "Most of the time the universe speaks to us quietly in pockets of silence, in coincidences, in nature, in forgotten memories, in the shape of clouds, in moments of solitude, in small tugs at our hearts". - Yami Sakugawa The universe spoke to me today

19.01.2022 A thought is 'just a thought' The less power we give it, the less we will notice it
19.01.2022 - T I M E - People often ask me - Do I get much time to be creative? I have always been a creative soul, as a child and throughout high school art was my very favourite class - ALWAYS!... I guess another way to describe it was that it just felt right and came easy to me. You could find me painting or doing something that involved being creative and using my hands most weekends. I must say, creating art for 'art sake' is quite the opposite to the process of art therapy. Utulizing art as 'therapy' involves using art as a tool almost like an alternate language which has the incredible potential to create meaning, healing and unlock our deepest personal insights. Creating art for 'arts sake' (a past time I really really enjoy) can involve creating art that is aesthetically pleasing both to the creater and viewer - usually speaking. This can also have many therapeutic benefits, often without us realising. It was this that I engaged in over the weekend with my beautiful cousin! It really was incredibly powerful to be able to share this space with her and truely connect around a shared love. I just love our finished piece and just had to share with you all HAPPY CREATING EVERYONE!!!!
18.01.2022 CREATIVITY WITHIN Creativity is not reserved for artists, poets or writers; it is a gift each one of us possesses. We are innately creative beings, and inspiration is all around us. A history of inspiration has resulted in innovation, art, beauty, music and literature, all of which we draw inspiration from today Perfectionism, self-criticism and 'growing up' at the expense of our playfulness are just some of the forces that stifle our innate sparkle. Educator Maria Monte...ssori (My practice framework is based on her philisophy) wrote that: 'Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make (them) learn things, but by the endeavour always to see burning within (them) that light which is called intelligence.' Indeed, the learning and exploration we pursue throughout our lives should continue to ignite the LIGHT within us and DELIGHT our SPIRITS #creativity #essence #arttherapy #everywhere #childlike #inspiration

17.01.2022 THE GIFTS OF PLAY Today we had a little apprentice give us a hand in the therapy room She especially loved our sand play therapy toys!... She reminded us of these pearls of wisdom: - It's healthy and totally acceptable to 'have fun' no matter what age. - Playing offers natural exposure to self directed, hands on learning experiences. - Play provides an opportunity for us to experience what it's like to be mindful and in the moment. - We can choose to view the world through the eyes of a child. With awe, wonder and child like curiosity, perhaps we might see things in an alternate way..... #play#children#arttherapy#symbols#coaching#experiences#tactile#sensory#therapy#art#viewpoint#perspective#colour#opportunity#fun

09.01.2022 - ANIMAL SYMBOLISM - Animal symbolism can be very powerful in art therapy. Animal qualities such as, how an animal looks, feels, sounds, moves and interacts in the world, how they live, what they enjoy, what makes them feel safe and secure, how they communicate and how they make shelter (just to name a few) can provide us with valuable guidance, insight and direction in life. This is why we hear the term, 'animal guide' - as animals provide an external support to guide us i...n life. All the way sheding new light, and allowing us to feel safe, in control and most importantly.....NOT ALONE. This turtle showed up over my weekend For years the turtle has been my animal guide. The turtle does this by arriving when needed, and provides great reasurance and confirmation that in good time all things do pass. Turtle symbolism can also relate to our: Ability to stay grounded Slowing down pacing yourself Determination and persistance Patience Ancient wisdom Strength and understanding

06.01.2022 A quick lunch date with my God Daughter = Creating a mini garden out of found objects Children are born with their 'creative juices' flowing. It is often external things (society, systems, parenting styles etc) that crushes a persons ability to think creatively.
06.01.2022 We can have impact on our own possibilities and impossibilities
04.01.2022 And that's a wrap! Part of the magic of this time of the year, is that it encourages us to reflect and feel gratitude By reflecting on the time and interactions we have had with people, we can often see things with a new lense (or new light). ... From the very bottom of my heart, I want to take the time to thank everyone I have walked alongside on this journey called life this year The pleasure has truely been mine. I just can't wait to see you all, fresh and bursting with new energy in 2021! Eleese Vinter
02.01.2022 Until a child is feeling connected and comfortable, it is difficult for a child to relate to others. A child is unlikely to have the mental capacity to make sense of things, until they are feeling more self connected. This goes for us adults too, as when we are not feeling connected and comfortable within ourselves, we naturally struggle to connect with others. ... The three R's seen below: (Regulate, Relate and Reason) offer the perfect platform for supporting children (and adults) who are experiencing big emotions
