23.01.2022 So many new and old faces at Vitality Vetcare lately! It has been a very busy and exciting time of year for us. We have been seeing a great number of wildlife as usual, but more young critters too. How cute is this little one?! We hope you all have a great weekend. Please remember to put some water out for wildlife over the summer, especially over the next couple of weeks as the heat soars. Shallow dishes with some rocks and sticks on the base so little ones can escape is the perfect set up.

20.01.2022 Kookaburra update! After surviving the jaws of a lace monitor and defying all the odds, our little buddy has been in care with an amazing carer who is lucky enough to have a wild family of Kookaburras in the neighbourhood. These ones are a bit unique in that they are accepting of new juveniles into their family. We are thrilled to report that our little buddy is now living predominantly outside and is being fed by the wild adult Kookaburras and learning how to sing! ... How amazing nature can be.

14.01.2022 Kooka update. This juvenile Kookaburra survived the jaws of a lace monitor (goanna). The team at Vitality Vetcare have become fond of this cheeky one whilst we have cared for it in hospital for the last two weeks. Its crushed ribs and wounds have healed well enough for this young one to be able to fly. It has gone into care with Wires Northern Rivers to be raised with a cousin and with the aid of local aunty and uncle Kookaburras. Some Kookaburra families welcome juveniles in rehabilitation into their territory and take on feeding and teaching them until they are ready to be released.

09.01.2022 Good news story about a grey goshawk who was brought to Vitality Vetcare close to death from dehydration and an infected leg wound. It took a great team of people, especially Mel from Wires Northern Rivers and the goshawk's resilience for her to fly free again.

05.01.2022 Happy International Volunteers Day! Thank you to all of the incredible people who so generously donate their time, emotion, funds and lives to causes that need support. Whether it be the environment, wildlife, domestic animals, human rights, community services or anything else - volunteering your self to a cause is truly appreciated.
