25.01.2022 Two brothers die in Molasses tank in QLD (https://tinyurl.com/ybfxnh9s) - We do not know the full details of the incident but remember: - Call 000 - Send for help immediately. Do not rush in to danger. - Ventilate the air in a confined space. If nothing else is available use a hose on mist/fog - Molasses with water ferments, creating carbon dioxide (heavier than air) and diluting oxygen - When oxygen is less than 6% unconsciousness is immediate, death within 3 - 5 min... - Fermentation creates flammable ethanol. 16.01.2022 I just completed a First Aid update with CPR First Aid, instructed by a Royal Army Combat Medic. http://www.cprfirstaid.com.au/courses.aspx This was one of the best courses that I have attended. Highly recommended! It was interesting to see that Oxygen therapy, splints and slings have been removed from Advanced First Aid.
