25.01.2022 It’s taken a little bit longer than expected but here it finally is. The updated website with all the images that now adorn the walls at Discovery Rottnest Island. The website tells the story so I don’t need to say anything more. A big thank you to all the people who helped with this process and those that gave me the opportunity in the first place! Happy exploring and thank you all so much for supporting Vita Lumen *Just click on the link ABOVE the photo and if viewing ...the site from your phone it’s best to turn the phone sideways to get the full image x (It seems to be misbehaving for some phones so otherwise please just type in Vita Lumen in your browser and it should do the trick) https://vitalumen.com/

24.01.2022 A little bit of publicity for Vita Lumen in today’s West Australian

24.01.2022 The guy from upstairs absolutely losing his again this morning (The fact that I took a photo while he was doing it, didn’t help) #youagain #everybodyneedsgoodneighbours #osprey #rooftopapartment #communalliving

23.01.2022 Weather Patterns #wintersolstice

23.01.2022 I fear it’s too late for mediation #spoilingforafight #guyfromupstairs #neighbours #angrybird #osprey

22.01.2022 Remember the recent post about that couple that I came upon early one morning in the Boranup Forest and Odie and I ended up being involved in their photo shoot? Well, I just received the sweetest thank you letter from them and included was a photo they took of all of us. It brought a huge smile to my face so thought it was worth a share.

21.01.2022 There’s too many words in my head that I’m trying to string together to explain this but really, it all comes down to connection doesn’t it. #wehaveconnection #heartstrings

19.01.2022 It’s not every day that you unwittingly become a wedding photographer but in a big nutshell my dog Odie and I found ourselves coming across a wedding party at 6.30am in the morning on a weekday in the middle of a remote forest (Boranup) Aforementioned wedding party who were from Malaysia as it turns out, fell in love with my dog (they aren’t the first ) and asked if he could feature in their wedding photos. Nothing unusual about any of this so I took some images, edited ...and will send to them. All free of charge of course. It’s my wedding present to them just because let’s face it; who doesn’t love a good wedding! So here are some of the images and soon, you will also be able to find more of my work for sale right near this place in a gallery at Mr Barval. But more details on that later. Have a beautiful weekend everyone. Waking up here in Margs this morning, it’s looking full of promise. Might have to check out the Margaret River Classic! See more

18.01.2022 A beautiful acknowledgment from Tourism Western Australia this morning

17.01.2022 Set in the beautiful Margaret River region, this vineyard gallery is a new stockist for Vita Lumen Photography. So excited to be a part of this. Make sure to stop in if you are passing by.

17.01.2022 Beautiful sunrise here this morning. And the ‘roos were out in force. Love these early mornings. And spring is definitely here!

14.01.2022 A few images from the weekend past. Always love being down south, especially this time of year. Early morning walks through the vines are on top of the list (followed closely by a glass of red by the fire I might add ) And just a little reminder that all our images can be viewed on Instagram ( @vita_lumen) . All these images are available as custom orders (as a few of you would know by now). Please don't hesitate to ask if you are looking for something specific or a gift idea. Many thanks to all of you for your continued support and hope hump day goes easy on you all

10.01.2022 A bit of street photography. Well; Fringe Festival photography. My favourite time of the year here in Perth. So many great events for all ages. Watching these mermaids and kids interact yesterday still makes me smile today. Hearing delighted squeals, shouts of ‘they’re real’; watching a few high standards getting set for future girl friends, instant connections, dreams coming true, a few hearts getting broken but kisses all round.

07.01.2022 A way overdue update on what I’ve been up to and thank you all for hanging in there still. I’m so excited about what I’m working on right now but it’s also kept me extremely busy (in a good way) and will continue to do so for a while yet. I’m so pleased to have been commissioned to work on the new eco village on Rottnest Island. Discovery Rottnest Island is an eco sustainable resort, currently getting built at the iconic Pinky’s Beach, featuring 83 eco tents with all the cr...eature comforts of a hotel or resort. By the time they are open for business, those 83 tents will all have one of my images on their wall. And you will also be able to find a coffee table book in the tent with my images. Both will be available for sale (and be replenished when sold) with a percentage of every sale benefiting Vita Lumen. Great news as 100% of profits of this (and any other) commission will continue to go to assist those that we support. Currently the Smith Family but soon a mental health organisation will be added as a beneficiary. So check it out. The eco resort is due to open on March the 1st and bookings are now open. And on a final note, a big thank you to all those that are helping me meet my deadline by offering their assistance. And those that have put their faith in me to get the job done! It’s a huge job and I’m only looking at it one step at a time (I’d faint otherwise). Currently Discovery Rottnest Island have a display at Elizabeth Quay and if you check out their tent display, you will already see my first image on the wall. Thanks again for your support. It means more to me than you know! See more

06.01.2022 A pretty amazing morning here in Perth today. One of about a dozen images I’d be happy to post from earlier today *time permitting there might even be more later here or on my story; you’ve been warned #barenecessities #swanriver #fog #morningpaddle #minimalism #thisisperth

06.01.2022 Just one of the images that can be found on the walls of Discovery Rottnest Island and is now also available for sale online, link in bio. And remember Vita Lumen is a not for profit organisation which means that every cent we earn goes to help those that need a helping hand

06.01.2022 Just another busy

05.01.2022 Happy New Year 2019 (only a few days late but then again for those that know me it’s not that unusual ) Thank you all for your continued support of Vita Lumen What a year it’s been! Who would have thought I’d get the opportunity to deck out a whole new Eco Village at Rottnest! It was a leap of faith, a whole heap of fun and a huge learning process but its all done now and we just have to await the opening of Discovery Rottnest Island in March. So exciting as it will me...an a greater public awareness of what we do and a continued income generated through the sale of the images and coffee table book. A big thank you again to Discovery Rottnest Island for putting their faith in me There will be a few more changes such as a much needed update of our website, and maybe another exhibition for starters! In the meantime, I wish you all a great year ahead. It really means a lot to have you all along for the ride! Upwards and onwards! Xx See more

03.01.2022 If you get down to Margaret River, please have a look at this awesome store who have been kind enough to feature Vita Lumen this month and will continue to stock our prints in the form of cards, matted prints and on canvas. I'm honoured to show off this beautiful region and to feel embraced by its community.

02.01.2022 One more image of the Rottnest Island exhibition for Discovery Rottnest Island . I thought it was apt considering the incoming weather. It’s one of my favourite images of the series and it’s about to be large scale on my own wall (always reassuring when an artist likes their own work ) I remember cycling past this (loaded with camera equipment of course) and stopping to look back. All I saw was a woman lying down sideways (the tree), stretching her arms towards the lighthouse. I still see this everytime I look at the image. I love the moodiness of the black and white however we also chose to do this image in colour. So you can choose which one you prefer
