24.01.2022 Got a set of dodgy arthritic knees? Here’s a set of exercises that might help with the management of knee osteoarthritis. They could also be used as a good warm-up before any squatting movements.... Attach a band around a fixed object with the other end looped around your lower thigh, just above your knee. Straighten your knee out by squeezing your quadriceps muscles on the front of your thigh. Return your knee to the bent position and perform 10-15 repetitions. Lower the band around your ankle and while seated, pull your foot underneath your chair, squeezing the hamstrings on the back of your thigh. Straighten your knee out and repeat 10-15 repetitions. Set the band around your lower thigh again, just above your knee. While seated, turn to the side slightly and push your knee out. Return to the middle and repeat 10-15 repetitions.

23.01.2022 This weeks workout of the week! This is another full body workout. These exercises can all be performed with just a Dumbbell, Swiss Ball and a Chair. So if all the machines are a bit busy, give these ones a go! All exercises are 3 sets of 10 as well as holding the plank for as long as you can.

19.01.2022 Hi! My name is Andrew and Im the founder of Vital Wellness Exercise Physiology. I am an Exercise Physiologist and Exercise Scientist. I love exercise and when not at work, have always been involved in some kind of sport/activity including soccer, cricket, kickboxing and weight training. The greatest joy I experience in this job is having a client tell me about their personal achievements at home, that have been made possible through exercise prescription. Simple tasks such a...s climbing stairs or standing from a chair can be very difficult for some and I enjoy being able to help clients regain their ability to move, free of pain. Please check out the Vital Wellness EP website for more information of the services offered. Website: www.VitalWellnessEP.com.au

18.01.2022 Last chance to get involved in the 6 week package. The sign up period has been extended until the end of the month!

18.01.2022 Heres John performing some band assisted split squats. John first started attending the clinic 6 weeks before his scheduled knee replacement surgery in 2017. Johns knee was giving him quite a lot of pain when trying to perform everyday tasks such as standing up from a chair or when climbing stairs. It was even keeping him from going cycling, which he loves to do. . There was quite a bit going on with a large Bakers Cyst behind his knee, complete loss of joint space in the m...edial compartment and moderate patellofemoral osteoarthritis. After just a few weeks of exercising with us, John noticed his knee was starting to feel a lot better. When it was time to get his knee replacement, he decided his knee was so good he no longer needed to get it replaced! . One year later and John is still with us and his original knee is staying strong. He is cycling 55kms per week. In October, John will be aiming to cycle a total of 500km in the Great Cycle Challenge in an effort to raise money to fight Kids Cancer. Support John through his profile on the Great Cycle Challenge site. . https://greatcyclechallenge.com.au/Riders/JohnWood See more

17.01.2022 Is it just me or is it much nicer exercising outside anyway.

06.01.2022 There are still plenty of ways you can get your daily dose of physical activity! Try going for a walk, run or bike ride. You can also still see an allied health professional if you require something a bit more specific.

05.01.2022 Knee pain keeping you from doing what you love? Try a long term solution in using exercise as medicine! Some people feel the need to load up on pain killers just to tolerate climbing some stairs. This is not your only option and left untreated, the condition may become worse. If ignored for a period of time, you may also develop complications elsewhere such as the hip and lower back, due to the body trying to compensate. For a natural way of improving the condition of your knee, contact us to discuss your options in seeing an Exercise Physiologist. As an added bonus, if you book in by the end of August, we will be performing a free Falls Risk Assessment with your consultation.

05.01.2022 A piece of paper or a high tech piece of medical equipment? This video is demonstrating how to perform some Transverse Abdominis Heel Slides. To allow my foot to slide smoothly I have placed an old piece of paper under my heel. Who needs fancy equipment? This is just a gentle exercise you might see in the beginning phase of lower back pain management. Not all exercise involves throwing heavy weights around!

02.01.2022 Down at Redlands PCYC for the annual open day. Offering 3 x PT sessions for $99 if you book this weekend! Also taking bookings for all new NDIS participants.
