17.01.2022 Most women that come to me for Pilates are terrified of starting. There is fear around not being fit enough, strong enough, good enough, being pushed into pain and movements that aren't right for their body..... {insert many other reason here}. Let me start here.... I do not believe in "no pain no gain" or pushing a body through pain - this is old school mentality and I have seen it cause many injuries. I do not believe that in order to get results your muscles must ache so badly that you cannot sit on the toilet the next day and I do not believe that exercise should be a chore, or something you hate - I have seen results being achieved through gentle movement, intelligent exercise selection and simple dietary & lifestyle changes. That said... If you'd like to build strength, reduce pain and feel incredible about yourself, plus be trained in a way that helps you to understand your own body, to build trust in yourself again and to get results without thrashing yourself - I invite you to PM me. 14.01.2022 "Physical fitness can neither be achieved by wishful thinking nor outright purchase." - Joseph Pilates. I turned to Pilates over 10 years ago to recover from ill health and injuries. I worked full time in a desk job and even with a healthy diet and regular exercise my body could not keep up. ... I suffered from constant back pain, headaches, stress and computer-related injuries. I tried everything and it was Pilates that truly saved me. What I know to be true, from my own painful experience but also from my expertise as a Pilates Practitioner is that I needed and we all need very specific strengthening and stretching exercises to combat the negative effects of desk work on our physical body and mental health. Pilates offers us that. I see clients improve their overall strength & flexibility which improves their posture. Clients who are injured return to good health, clients who have stress and anxiety challenges improve their mental health. But don't take my word for it. Try it for yourself. With gratitude, Jodie

10.01.2022 + I FOUND FREEDOM IN MOVEMENT + Hello, for those who have recently joined my page or group, I'm Jodie! I created Vital Wellness out of a passion for all things movement and from a deeply personal place of turning to Pilates myself to recover from injuries and ill health.... Growing up, I competed in both gymnastics and touch rugby at state and national levels, followed with 7 years behind a desk and my body reached a place where it couldnt keep up. After trying everything to find relief from constant back pain, headaches, stress and computer-related injuries, I tried Pilates and Ive never looked back! After only 8 sessions I saw incredible improvement, and it was from this experience that I changed careers and started Vital Wellness and now hold the highest levels of certified Pilates qualifications available in Australia. Every movement you learn and master within the Pilates method improves your muscle control because it naturally triggers the innate signalling system of our body eventually... allowing movements to become second nature. When muscle control is achieved, it is organically applied to any functions outside of your Pilates practice e.g. running, walking, lifting and daily living, making you a stronger and healthier human! 08.01.2022 Well, what a crazy few months we have all had. These past few weeks of returning slowly back to routine and normality have felt a little different. We are two weeks into our new Pilates term and its been such a pleasure to be back teaching Pilates after what feels like in forever.... The first class back for me teaching in-person felt a little rusty and shaky! I felt like the words didnt seem to want to flow and the class rhythm felt a little off - but it was fun and so great to be back! Now we are heading towards the end of the second week Ive definitely found my flow again! It was just like I never stopped teaching!!! This current Pilates term is a shorter-term than normal so that we can get back in line with the school terms. Following this week, we have two more weeks of classes to go. Our new term, term 3, will begin Monday 20th July plus I have been working on a few exciting things behind the scenes for the community! All movement is suitable for beginners when delivered from a place of knowledge and understanding, and delivered specifically to the client's requirements (even when in a group environment). The longer answer... If you are injury-free and youre looking to improve your fitness, strength and flexibility Pilates is perfect for you. Vital Wellness is a community-based Pilates program and I offer one style of Pilates class. Pilates. The way I teach is with specificity, with care and from a place of experience. So during all classes, beginners are given the support they need to learn while regular clients are given the challenge and growth they are seeking to continue to improve their practice. We start the program together and we finish the program together to build community and offer each other support as we learn. PLUS... Pilates isnt just a fitness class - its a holistic and intelligent movement system.
