25.01.2022 Vitiligo Successful Hand Treatment Case Study: We are re-posting this case study due to the huge amount of interest received, and the strong message it sends to other patients that are treating their hands or feet. The hand is essentially a joint area of the body, and normally does take longer to treat as opposed to other non-joint areas of the body.... Joint areas are under constant movement trauma, and this does make treatment slower. However, this is not always the case as is seen in this study we conducted. The patient concerned was in his late twenties and the first pic shows his Vitiligo coverage on the hand only 1 month after it first appeared. The spots were spreading quickly, and he contacted us after being diagnosed. The spots had not yet spread further than his hand. He was not predisposed to Vitiligo, and we started treatment immediately with the Vitilox Cream and our Vitilox Vitamin B12 formula. He applied the Vitilox Pigmentation Cream twice a day, mornings and evenings to speed up the process. One Vitamin B12 & Folic acid was taken in the morning with his breakfast. As can be seen by the second pic taken 5 weeks after treatment began, the Vitiligo spots have pigmented and merged together, and his pigmentation and skin tone is almost totally restored. There were also no further Vitiligo spots appearing on any other part of his body. The Vitilox Vitamin B12 & Folic acid would have prevented any further spread of the Vitiligo. He still had the bit of de-pigmented skin visible between his two fingers, and also on the index finger knuckle, and between the index finger and his thumb. This is visible on the second pic. We then added the Vitilox Maintenance Serum to help speed up the process, and also to prevent any further re occurrence of his Vitiligo. By Mid-September, his pigmentation was complete. Note that this case study began towards the end of June, and full results were seen 8-10 weeks later. Note that we are all different, and results can vary between individuals. 23.01.2022 Vitiligo Neck Treatment: This Case Study depicts the repigmentation of the Neck area of one of our young patients. When treating your neck, you may find that the pigmentation process takes a bit longer. You will also notice that small unpigmented lines remain longer on the neck area being treated.... This is due to the neck being a 'joint area' and as it is under constant motion trauma, the melanocytes that produce the pigment may take longer to regain your natural melanin. 23.01.2022 Vitiligo Treatment and Conditions: Vitiligo manifests as white spots or patches on the skin. These patches can appear anywhere on the body. In some cases the patches will spread while in others it will remain localized.... Vitiligo does not discriminate as it affects both males and females of all races and all ages. Vitiligo is an autoimmune condition and is not contagious. Autoimmune diseases cause certain cells in the body to attack other healthy cells. We are sure you will find the information interesting, and we welcome any feedback from your side.... Myth: People develop (Vitiligo) white patchy skin because they are born of mixed-race ancestors. Fact: Vitiligo affects people of all ethnicity backgrounds. Vitiligo comes about as the result of damaged or destroyed melanocytes which stop producing melanin. Melanin gives your skin its natural pigmentation tone. Myth: Only dark-skinned people get Vitiligo. Fact: Vitiligo can affect people of all races. Because of the contrast in colour Vitiligo is more prominent on people with darker skin tones. Myth: Vitiligo can cause other skin diseases such as leprosy, and albinism. Fact: Vitiligo is a separate condition. Leprosy is faded patches of skin which is an infection caused by slow-growing bacteria. Albinism is a hereditary condition. Both parents must give the albinism gene to a child to cause albinism. Albinism is a full and complete lack of melanin or skin pigment. Myth: People with Vitiligo have an increased risk of skin cancer. Fact: People with Vitiligo in fact have a reduced risk of contracting skin cancer. Fact: White or light patches caused by Vitiligo tend to occur more commonly in sun-exposed areas, such as hands, feet, arms, face, and lips. However, Vitiligo patches can occur on any part of the body. Myth: Vitiligo is a harmful, life-threatening disease. Fact: While Vitiligo might be life-changing, as it could affect your confidence or self-esteem, it is in no way a life-threatening disease. Myth: Vitiligo is contagious so people with Vitiligo should be avoided and not touched. Fact: Vitiligo is neither contagious nor infectious. 22.01.2022 Genetic Vitiligo Case Study Many people with Vitiligo also have a family history of the condition. As it runs in the family, it does suggest that Genetics plays a role. In the past many Vitiligo patients have felt that if their Vitiligo is hereditary, treatment is not possible. We have found that by using the correct product, it can be treated successfully.... This genetic case study which is still ongoing, shows that Vitiligo can be treated. The following testimonial was written by the patients mother: My daughter, now 25, was diagnosed with Vitiligo (genetic) when she was about 15. However, she started losing pigmentation a few years prior to that we just didnt know what was causing it. 21.01.2022 Tips in Applying our Vitilox Pigmentation Cream: The Cream is best applied to the Vitiligo affected areas of the body after bathing or washing those areas. The water needs to be warm to hot, (not too hot that it burns) but just enough to open the pores of the skin. This enables the cream to absorb quick and deep into the skin cells and treat the melanocytes of your skin. Once you have washed the Vitiligo areas you wish to treat, you then need to dry the skin before applying t...he cream. If your skin is still wet when you apply the cream it shall not absorb deeply into the skin, and you shall not obtain the desired results. Only a small amount of cream is required per application. If correctly applied, it does not leave an oily film on your skin. If you are using a makeup or foundation, you can then add it over the treated area. The cream will be under the upper dermis, (epidermis layer) or skin surface, and shall not interfere with your other skin product applications. In fact, the Vitilox Pigmentation Cream will act as the perfect moisturizer to your skin. A good example here is our Vitilox Cover cream that is used to camouflage spots or patches on the skin. We only apply this over the Vitilox Pigmentation cream, and it spreads easily and enables the cream to go to work below the skin while you have the benefit of being covered up. Vitilox pigmentation cream is also excellent to apply after treatment with the UVB lamp. Once you have completed your treatment apply a thin layer of cream over the area you treated. It soothes, moisturizes and heals your skin. When treating the face, apply the cream in the mornings and evenings after washing your face with warm water. Dry the skin, and apply the cream over the areas being treated. Wait a few minutes before applying your make up or foundation. The chest, stomach, legs, arms and genitals fall into the medium or general category of areas that we treat with our pigmentation creams. 19.01.2022 Vitiligo and Allergies: From our ongoing assessments, and also patient consultations, we have noticed that Allergies do cause Vitiligo to trigger, or spread. Vitiligo and Allergies are very closely connected, and many of our new patients see the first signs of Vitiligo appearing once they become effected or have an allergic reaction to the change of seasons or chemical induced allergies.... Why are Allergies more prone in Spring? The difference in temperature and rainfall patterns affect the pollination of plants and the growth of mold spores. These are the common allergy triggers that generally increase during natures growth season of spring. Grass pollen allergy commonly causes nasal symptoms such as itching, sneezing, congestion or a watery, streaming nose, while tree pollen may trigger allergic rhinitis, or a runny nose, hay fever, and red, itchy eyes. It is the scratching of these irritants that causes the damage to the skin which in turn causes Vitiligo to appear in predisposed individuals. What about other Seasons? Unfortunately, seasonal allergies arent limited to spring. Things improve a little in autumn, especially if its a wet season, as moisture in the air weights down pollen and prevents it from becoming airborne. However, rain also fosters the growth of mold spores, which are another common natural allergen. It is important for you to get treatment for your allergies to prevent side effects and conditions such as Vitiligo from manifesting. Saying all this, there are many treatments available for allergies. Chemicals? Detergents, soaps, cleaners are some of the chemicals and substances that can irritate the skin. They can wear down the oily, protective layer on skin surface and lead to irritant contact dermatitis. Irritant contact dermatitis is common among people who regularly work with strong chemicals or detergents, such as at restaurant, maintenance workers, and chemical workers. It is also seen in people who do a lot of housework due to contact with cleaning products. Initially the skin reacts by swelling and then very small lacerations will appear. These small itchy spots can very easily trigger Vitiligo if you are predisposed to it, or cause the further spread of the condition if you do have Vitiligo. This year it shall be focusing on the mental and medical journey of vitiligo as well as the social impact of vitiligo.... 18.01.2022 Vitiligo High Body Coverage 30% or more: #vitiligotreatment #vitilox #vitiligopigmentationcream The colour of our skin depends on our melanin production. The more melanin your body produces the darker your skin tone.... When the melanocytes, melanin producing cells in the skin die or are damaged, they stop producing melanin. When this happens, we develop white spots or patches on our skin. We can also loose the pigmentation in our nasal cavity and gums as well as our hair. This is known as Vitiligo. When we have had Vitiligo for many years, or it is spreading very quickly, (more than a 25% body coverage) we need to use a product that is capable of first slowing down and stopping the further spread of the Vitiligo before looking at restoring our natural skin tone. To do this we need to replace the vitamins and metallic elements that have been depleted and are missing from the body of the Vitiligo patient. 17.01.2022 One on the main causes of Vitiligo is Skin Trauma. Skin Trauma can be caused by various injuries, e.g. Sun Burn, Cuts, Injuries, Rashes, Allergies and Chemicals. We have had a lot of success with our Vitilox products on patients who have suffered from Vitiligo started by skin trauma and would like to share a recent case where the patients Vitiligo started around an injury to the wrist. Using our Vitilox Pigmentation Cream & Slow absorbing Vitamin B12 and folic acid we were able to repigment and successfully treat the Vitiligo area.

15.01.2022 Preventing the spread of Vitiligo: Our ongoing Vitiligo assessments have shown that there are a few common causes of Vitiligo that we need to be aware of to prevent the further spread of the condition. Once the spread of Vitiligo has been slowed down or stopped, treatment results are accelerated. Exfoliators:... Exfoliators can trigger Vitiligo, and also cause the spread of the condition if they are rough, or used vigorously. Some of them are abrasive and damage the skin. We have new patients that initially see Vitiligo appearing on their feet and ankles. This is due to them washing these areas vigorously, and by doing so, damaging the skin itself. Normally the skin is left feeling dry and even itchy after bathing. If you are predisposed to vitiligo, this could also cause the Vitiligo to trigger. We recommend using a face cloth or light loofah to wash yourself, and also a soap that is natural and chemical free. Allergies: If you do suffer from Allergies, and feel the need to scratch or rub the itch away, - Dont! This action will lacerate and damage your skin further. Allergies also cause the swelling under the skin and these tiny lacerations will ultimately depigment if rubbed or scratched. Washing Powder: Harsh chemicals found in washing powder or detergents often leave residues on your clothes, and these are then subsequently transferred onto your skin. You may notice that after dressing you get itchy around your clothing lines, waist, ankles, underarms, etc. Note that chemicals do include dyes and fragrances that are also toxic to the melanocytes that are responsible for producing your natural body pigment. 14.01.2022 Vitiligo and Hand Sanitizers: When it comes to preventing the spread of infectious diseases like Covid-19, nothing beats good old-fashioned Hand Washing. * Always use clean, running water. (It can be warm or cold.)... * Wet your hands first, then turn the water off, and lather your hands with soap. * Rub your hands together with the soap for at least 20 seconds. * Turn the water on and rinse your hands. Use a clean towel or air dry. If you are Treating Vitiligo on your hands, this is the best way to sanitize your hands. Yes, washing your hands with soap and water removes debris that hand sanitizers leave behind (including allergens like peanut proteins) with the fewest side effects. However, we do understand that if water and soap arent available, your next best option, is to use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol. These alcohol based hand sanitizers are a handy on-the-go way to help prevent the spread of germs when soap and water is not available. Keep in mind that alcohol is an irritant, washing ones hands too many times with sanitizers can also have an adverse effect by abrading the skin. The immune system is on everyone around the worlds lips together with Corona COVID-19 virus. The reason for this is that generally those with a compromised immune system are more likely to suffer a more intense form of COVID-19.... While it is widely believed that Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease it is NOT to say Vitiligo sufferers with be more susceptible to the COVID-19 virus. Your immune system is a complex and finely tuned network of cells and tissues throughout the body (e.g., skin, gut, spleen, liver, lymph nodes) thats constantly working to defend against infection from harmful pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. When the immune system recognizes a threat, it mounts a response by releasing white blood cells and other immune compounds that destroy foreign invaders. Older adults tend to have a weaker immune system than younger adults. With age, its thought that the body produces fewer T cells white blood cells that attack pathogens. As well, insufficient levels of certain nutrients can be common in older people due to decreased appetite, chewing and swallowing problems, or reduced nutrient absorption in the gut. Amazingly, the immune system keeps its own record of every germ that has entered your body and has been destroyed. It uses this stored information to work more quickly to destroy repeat invasions by the same micro-organisms. In fact, the antibodies stay in a person's body for future use. Blood tests are generally used to test the immune system. These tests can determine if the levels of infection-fighting proteins (immunoglobulin) in your blood are normal. The past five months has been very Traumatic for many of us, and this along with certain Hand Sanitizers, Hair Dyes, and other products we never used in the past has triggered Vitiligo in many of our new patients. We do Vitiligo Assessments on a daily basis, and use this information to help with our own Research and Development and to also understand more on the individual Vitiligo conditions that exist.... Here are some of the products that need to be used with caution. Most do contain a warning on the label, and also give instructions to do an allergy check first on your skin before applying them: Hair Dye: Lockdown has caused many of us to purchase hair dyes that are available off the shelf. Some of these products do contain ingredients that you may be allergic to, or that irritates the skin. This can very well develop into Vitiligo on the scalp, and needs to be used with care. Read the safety inserts carefully before using these products. Hand Sanitizers: Hand Sanitizers with an alcohol content exceeding 70% need to be avoided if you are treating Vitiligo on your hands, or do have Vitiligo on other parts of your body. This is especially important if you are predisposed to the condition as the Vitiligo could very well spread to the hands. Rather use a natural soap and water where possible. Otherwise use a hand sanitizer that has less than 70% alcohol. Washing powder: Ever noticed that when your clothing is not rinsed correctly that you see rashes developing around the tight fitting areas of your body where your clothing chaffs your skin? i.e. waist, armpits, ankles, thighs, neck? This is due to the chemical compound still being active on the clothing. Make sure your clothing is rinsed thoroughly. Vitiligo is an autoimmune condition, and in most cases has a trigger. The main trigger is Trauma. This can be due to many things, the most common being the loss of a loved one, changes in ones job or financial situation, or a medical ailment. We have all been affected by the Covid epidemic in some way, and we know... from our assessments that this has had a marked effect in new patients being inflicted with Vitiligo. There are of course environmental causes like sunburn, chemical exposures, infections and other physical damage as well as damage to skin from allergies which cause itching and consequently the laceration of the skin. Unfortunately once Vitiligo appears, we start to stress more and this causes the condition to spread further. This of course has a snow ball effect on us, and we do need to stop the spread before we can successfully treat this condition. Caffeine and Sugar: Too much caffeine unnaturally speeds up your metabolism, and this causes Vitiligo to spread. Keep your Coffee intake down to 2 cups per day maximum. This is also true when it comes to Sugar. Soda Drinks and added sugar can cause a range of medical conditions, and also contributes to the spread of Vitiligo. Physical Exercise: Try to incorporate some physical activity into your daily routine on a regular basis. If walking or exercise does not appeal, try gardening for some physical activity. Physical exercise can be used as a surrogate to metabolize the excessive stress hormones and restore your body and mind to a calmer, more relaxed state. Relief of Stress: Reducing your stress or increasing your ability to cope is important in the fight against Vitiligo. You can avoid a lot of stress by planning ahead, rearrange your surroundings and living a healthy lifestyle. Each day try to relax with a stress reduction technique.
