25.01.2022 Jackie plays Grade 5 AMEB piece Merry Andrew Jackie has been doing on and off virtual and face to face lessons. This piece has finally polished with dynamics and speed up! Composed by Bela Bartok, considered to be one of the most important composers of the 20th century. With a tempo mark of Con moto, scherzando, this piece needs to be played with motion, sportive and a playful manner #AMEB #series18

18.01.2022 2 MINUTES READ Dear Parents, Term 2 is coming very soon and our academy has decided to offer piano and music lessons to students via ZOOM app (available on iPad/ Laptop/ mobile phone)! This will never stop us from pursuing & enjoying lessons weekly! ... Due to the current coronavirus situation, we understand that face-to-face lesson would have imposed potential risk to our students, parents and teachers. Their health and well-being are always our priority. Therefore, this new technology has led us to a new way of learning Our teachers are all here to help you! Online piano lesson is still a great way to keep up the passions and practice routine! Even though we need to stay home for awhile, our academy will provide full support with your lessons! **We will be contacting parents soon to run a trial meeting and make sure you can follow every steps thoroughly** Please check the following steps as in how to set up Zoom account if you havent already done so: 1. Visit & Register for an account (gmail/ yahoo mail) via: zoom.us 2. Click Join button and enter the required code - our teachers would have their unique code to launch meetings 3. We will need two devices to conduct the lessons: - iPad to be placed in front of students (i.e. on music stand) Why? Because they can see our teachers with a bigger screen and makes things easier - Laptop/ phone to be placed right next to the piano (you can use a chair/ table/ anything that allows the gadget to have a right angle of view) 4. We often can hear echos coming out from the devices. Therefore, please make sure you have a earphones/ headphones with you during lessons Please contact me by email/ SMS/ phone call if you have any questions! We cant wait to have in person lessons with you again - potentially on Term 3 or sooner! Meanwhile, enjoy the 2 weeks holiday break and Term 2 will be resumed on the 14th April 2020. Thank you and stay safe Michelle School Director

12.01.2022 This period has been hectic but rewarding!! Thank you everyone for your kind words though - it really means a lot to us and glad to see students are slowly getting used to our professionally designed online lessons Stay tuned to our page - many more updates to come
11.01.2022 Our academy has launched virtual lessons for a month already Great to see everyone is slowly getting used to this and we actually found out there are some benefits of doing online lessons too For students dont have printers at home, we offer contactless and curbside pick up at studio We will provide a folder individually and attach printouts in for students Efficient and safe Although face to face lessons allow teachers to focus more on students hands, fingers, arm,... wrist postures as well as dynamics, virtual lesson actually encourages students to improve the following things: 1. Better engagement to lessons Some students are actually more engaged to virtual piano lessons as our teachers require students to write down/ highlight important notes by themselves Also, most of the students are more eager and confident to answer questions!! 2. Strengthen parents and kids communications Parents would have to sit in and join the meeting with students for better assistance in setting up devices and following given instructions. It nourishes the interactions between parents and kids and is definitely a nice weekly activity 3. To build better concentration level and patience We have experienced laggy moments occasionally! Students have to stay patient To allow the software to be smoothen up and listen to teachers instructions as well 4. Fun and interactive (still!) We have worksheets and materials prepared by our teachers - Share screen/ whiteboard function in Zoom allows both teachers and students to write/ draw during theory sessions With the first stage of easing restrictions in Victoria today, we hope to resume all face to face lessons in Term 3!! Contact us to save a spot then in advance then
