Its off grid, has a Wisconsin mound and trenches as their on site sewer system, double glazed windows, is strawbale with internal walls made of rammed earth and cob. Its wheelchair accessible and cosy all year round

Love bringing dreams into reality Its always one of my first questions how does it perform in summer and winter and its usually the same answer max temps on the long hot weeks in summer are around 26-29, outside temps are usually 40. ... 11.01.2022 20 years ago we started our first straw bale home. It was epic. It took 7 years to build with temps from -4 to 46 degree days and crazy hard on the body and soul. To all of the women out there who are building your dreams, go get them!

11.01.2022 CSIRO tested our straw wall panels. They burnt them for 2 hours at 1028 degrees and the panels performed really well. The outside was only 68 degrees, it really shows how the straw bale panels stop heat from transferring through. Many well known products don’t perform this well in this test (they crumble and burn) This is just a test to see how it performs

10.01.2022 Our 1st interstate panel delivery to S’OR Construction in Victoria was installed in 6.5 hours on Monday. Two coats of render are already on there, conduits roughed in, it is just so much easier, faster and simpler to install

Its been their dream to bring it back from total disrepair. There were a few options, go for a grant (a lot of red tape and time), do mud bricks and pise traditional style (everyone he contacted were too busy), or use structural straw panels. 09.01.2022 Sometimes things can go awry. We’re not perfect and it’s better to be open with what can go wrong. We used 100 year old timbers supplied to us on this beautiful home and they’ve shrunk a lot on the windows. We’ll go out and repair them of course. Lessons: I’m not sure we’ll use old timbers again We are so grateful we’ve got THE best ever clients who we can talk to at a rational level. Because communication is the one vital thing in any relationship, so a big thank you for being the incredible people you are Wayne and Karyn!

The internal walls are solid earth/cob, ceilings are timber with R4 insulation, natural timber windows and kitchen from Kellys Cabinets and Joinery, floors are polished concrete, internal clay renders, lime renders on the outside. Its warm in winter and cool in summer

03.01.2022 Love this beautiful go-getting couple. Weve just started their home woot woot Emily n Simon have been living out of a caravan for a long time now. During the fires their caravan got burnt along with the tanks and shed, mill etc. it was epic. Then the floods came and took out their bridge. Now here we are, so happy for you two
