25.01.2022 Notes like this are unnecessary but definitely make our day!
25.01.2022 For World Refugee Day 2020, we share the heartfelt words of Arash Bordbar, Chair of Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network .. To be called a refugee is an opposite of insult. Its a badge of strength, victory and courage. It is very important to know about the struggles that refugees go through day by day, but also to celebrate the contributions that refugees have made in our community. Unfortunately during this pandemic, the rise of xenophobia has been really alarming.... But Im hoping that together, we will be able to understand that this has impacted everyone and to stand together in unity so that we overcome this challenge of COVID-19. I would like to thank everyone who stood in solidarity with refugees especially during these tough times. Thank you Theres lots to see and do: https://www.refugeeweek.org.au
24.01.2022 So, how do VivCourt staff spend their bonus? Grant, a VivCourt trade lead, donated his social bonus stating ........ "Im thrilled that VivCourt has decided to release another round of social bonuses this year. I was mentioning to Rob that I think this is a defining moment for VivCourt -- a chance to showcase this business model at a time when the world really needs it. I love seeing the emails each day about the reactions from the myriad of not-for-profits weve supported ...with our recent donations. I must say, the connection between the day-to-day work and the social side has never felt closer... its pretty surreal to think that the profits we made a few weeks ago will be in the hands of those who need it most only a few weeks later. Thats a fantastic turnaround time!" The graph shows how we donated nearly $1,000,000 in the past 2 weeks. See more
24.01.2022 The team from The Womens Cottage gave us reason to smile this week with their lovely email to our staff... We are at this time particularly concerned for those who are falling through the cracks of current government support processes. This is namely casual workers, temporary visa holders, overseas students, contract workers and young people without family support: we are very concerned for women and children who are at increased risk of harm from domestic violence during these times of extra stress and social isolation. To that end we will be applying the $10,000 donation from Vivcourt to emergency financial relief and direct food provisions for the above client groups during the COVID-19 crisis. 24.01.2022 As one of our IT leads so eloquently put it Being able to donate at a time like this is truly a privilege. He was responding to Mama Lanas message Thank you so much again for contacting us. Words cannot express my immense gratitude to your generosity. This time in our lives is very stressful for everyone but even more so for charities like ours. Without people and companies like yourself and Vivcourt, we would not be able to continue our cause. 23.01.2022 Thank you House of Welcome for the delicious Ranginauk Balls (Iranian date and walnut balls)! You spoil us with your wonderful food and care.
23.01.2022 its great working here and realizing the impact we can have says one of VivCourts first staff members in response to the thank you from Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) ... Thank you for your wonderful, exceptionally generous donation which we have just received. We are deeply grateful for this support. It is both humbling and thrilling to receive such a donation. Humbling given its magnitude and thrilling to know the number of people we can protect. Your donation has been put to work straight away, helping to fund more nets as we work to fill some funding gaps requested of us. you will see that the nets will be distributed in the Democratic Republic of Congo, specifically in Aketi Health Zone in Bas Uele Province. https://www.againstmalaria.com/Default.aspx
21.01.2022 The team is pleased to be on the much anticipated staff weekend away - enjoying the beauty, hospitality and activities of the Blue Mountains NSW.
20.01.2022 A lovely message from OzHarvest to one of our senior traders who selected OzHarvest as his social bonus recipient, supporting their vital work ...... Thanks so much for your generous gesture via VivCourts employee choice donation. Last week, Lord Mayor, Clover Moore, joined forces with our wonderful volunteers to help give out food hampers to international students at Harbourside shopping centre. 800 hampers of fresh fruit, veg and pantry staples were given out, along with 800 cooked meals. Despite the rain, students queued patiently as we made up more hampers! It was incredible to see students from so many different countries who were all extremely happy and grateful for the support. Most have lost their jobs in the hospitality sector and what little funds they have just cover rent and bills.
18.01.2022 Thank you Two Good! Not only do we get to enjoy your delicious food, you spoil us with yummy presents like this chocolate fudge brownie. With apologies to all our team working from home as we did not save you any!

17.01.2022 With the end of the financial year we too have been making a few calculations and we thought you would find the numbers as exciting as we have. Over $1m donated in April plus over $3m donated in the last month! In the last 3 years, VivCourt staff have directly donated more than $8m to more than 220 not for profits. What a privilege for us to be able to support so many front line services as they undertake their vital work across all aspects of our community. The breakup of the 220 recipients is shown in this graph.

14.01.2022 We love being spoilt, especially with a home cooked lunch! Today it was with an absolutely delicious authentic Indian feast - made with love by one of the wonderful mums.
14.01.2022 A suitably, social distanced always very welcome visitor in the Sydney office last week was Bernie from Backtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QIAcuyXZxQ We asked how his program was affected by COVID. He shared how the work of the BackTrack team shifted immediately to repairing fencing after bushfires - essential work so they could keep operating. Despite the young people being eligible (and without doubt to receive higher centrelink payments than Bernie could pay the...m), this wonderful team of young people keep turning up 7 days a week, in freezing early morning conditions out bush to work long hours serving others. A lesson for us all. Bernie smiling as he shared that the team would rock up to the small rural farms to fix fences and were sometimes met with concern and worry on the faces of the farmers as they surveyed the motley crew of kids. And typically, by the end of their work the farmers would be in tears at the kindness of these kids. Definitely a lesson for us all! See more

12.01.2022 Asylum Seeker Centre CEO Frances Rush, OAM shared the following with VivCourt staff ... The Asylum Seekers Centre has had to reimagine all of our services in response to the COVID-19 to ensure people in urgent need have access to the food, health, digital access and support required. People seeking asylum are doing it tough, like everyone in our community. But they are facing the pandemic without a government safety net or support. The social bonus donations from several VivCourt staff will make a real difference to meeting emergency needs that are growing daily. We see the very best of civil society wanting to make a difference in the lives of people seeking asylum. And the response from a VivCourt intern who made one of the donations to ASC "I feel very privileged to be able to donate to such a worthwhile cause!".
12.01.2022 Sam, VivCourts Commercial Analyst, shared the following message with the VivCourt team today .... "I had the privilege of donating my social bonus to The Girls and Boys Brigade, a Surry Hills based community NFP providing education, recreation and assistance to underprivileged youths living across a number of the inner city housing commissions: http://www.girlsandboysbrigade.org.au/ It was quite the new / surreal experience making the cold call and connection with the NF...P, having not donated my 2019 allocation yet. The CEO, Stefan Lamour-Jansson, was quite speechless with the timing and generosity of the donation. Stefan, a prior attendee of the Brigade, has seen demand for their education and counselor support services swell significantly due to school closures and attendees being exposed to difficult home environments. It was a strangely emotional call, not least because my father also attended the Brigade throughout his childhood and teenage years. I was surprised by the range of emotions I went through on the call, some nervous energy, feeling a bit as if it was not my money to give, joyful in the impact the funds would make, and, ultimately, pride and gratitude immense pride in VivCourt, and gratitude to have the opportunity to be part of what we are trying to accomplish. From the shared experiences I have read, I know I am not alone in my gratitude, or the pride I have for Vivienne Court!" Yep ... brought smiles all around.

So much generosity through the essential agencies assisting people who often have little other support.
11.01.2022 Excellent article by Ben Doherty Guardian Australia that shows that .... "At the end of this crisis, Australia must resume its place in the world as an outward-looking, globally engaged, trading, travelling nation, as a place that welcomes the world in. This will be much harder to do if we are seen to summarily discard visitors who suddenly become inconvenient. ...... If it is true that we are all in this together, everyone here must be we. 09.01.2022 Our staff and their families have been spending a lot of time researching where they would like to donate their social bonus. They had just 2 weeks to make the donation! Here is the response from one recipient..... I just wanted to email you and thank you for your generous donation that you contacted us about this morning. It is so needed right now. I have sent you some photos of Foodbank NT packing hampers. We packed 350 hampers last week and 430 today. There are many vulnerable people up here in the Top End and your donation will make a difference in the lives of others. Thank you again for being generous and awesome
09.01.2022 "We continue to get some great feedback from all the additional meals we are donating thanks to you and the awesome folk at Vivcourt. The team put together this little video as a thank you."
09.01.2022 We are always left with smiles ever time we do anything with Cerebral Palsy Alliance. Their latest update for us ..... Isaac is a 6-year-old boy in kindergarten, and he loves playing with his sister and toy dinosaurs. He lives with cerebral palsy and has been receiving essential occupational therapy and physiotherapy from CPA since 2016. When the coronavirus pandemic began, Isaac and his family were one of the 400 families who urgently needed to transition their therapy s...essions to Telepractice and were immediately put forward to receive a Telepractice Support Kit. It has made a world of difference to Isaac and Alyce: We were so excited. It was like Christmas morning! Our kit was even wrapped up like a present. I couldnt wipe the smile off Isaacs face. said Alyce A number of the generous staff at Vivienne Court Trading donated their social bonuses to help support over 400 families like Isaacs to access Telepractice. Thankyou Vivienne Court for your continued interest and incredible support. We are so grateful to you all for considering our families and clients when choosing the causes you support. You really are making a huge difference. See more

03.01.2022 A few of our energy team combined their social bonus to donate to the Hydrocephalus Support Association: www.hydrocephalus.org.au This donation enabled the maintenance of the Shunt Registry, which while in its infancy, has the potential to save people challenges with everyday events such as using a mobile phone or going through airport security. Also, the importance of supporting people through the shunt registry is so eloquently demonstrated with the following shared with ou...r team ... I was very surprised to see that my condition, congenital hydrocephalus, ranks second in the need for shunts! Other conditions, such as brain injury and brain tumours are two more. Through a very important support group on Facebook, I met a valued friend in 2013, and she acquired hydrocephalus, through a defect in her skull, and needed a shunt to survive. In fact, at some stage, she needed two shunts, as her hydrocephalus was considered non-communicating. She lost her battle in September of last year, and it is only just recently, that I find that I can talk about her with a little less sadness about her passing, and remember her valiant spirit. So, the information that can be gained through this registry is considerable. It has the potential to do much good within the community, which is expanding considerably, due to a number of factors, some already mentioned. I would like to thank you again, and as it has been saved for another year, we can then look to how we can appeal to the government in a cost benefit analysis, the pros and cons of such a registry.
