19.01.2022 We are getting a lot of questions about the difference between the JobSeeker and JobKeeper payments. We found this article which explains the difference quite well (although it is still potentially confusing, so contact us if you are still unsure): https://www.smh.com.au//jobseeker-or-jobkeeper-the-answer-

18.01.2022 Times are all sorts of crazy at the moment, and accordingly we are taking measures to follow guidelines provided from the Government. We will therefore not be in the office as of tomorrow, for the foreseeable future as we know it. We are well set up to be working from home, and will still be able to help our clients over phone calls and/or online meetings.... It's such a challenging time for all businesses of all levels, and we will continue to assist where we can. The Government has announced stimulus packages which we are hoping will provide relief to a lot of businesses and their employees. Based on these changes, we have turned off our online appointments for now, and ask that you call or email to arrange to chat. Please remember, this is an extremely unique challenge for EVERYONE, and it's so important to continue to support each other and work together where possible. Call us on 02 6056 1929 or email [email protected].

18.01.2022 The ATO has released Fact Sheet's on the JobKeeper Payments which you can access here: SUMMARY https://vividadvisers.com.au//Fact-Sheet-Supporting-Busine... FOR EMPLOYERS https://vividadvisers.com.au//Fact-Sheet-JobKeeper-Payment FOR EMPLOYEES https://vividadvisers.com.au//Fact-Sheet-JobKeeper-Payment The most important thing is to head to the ATO JobKeeper website and register your business. You will then get updates and further information on how to apply https://www.ato.gov.au/general/gen/JobKeeper-payment/

17.01.2022 Today's most frequently asked question: " $, ?" The answer is ! To be eligible to claim for the payments, you need to ensure the minimum of $1,500 is paid to each eligible employee before the end of each fortnight.... IMPORTANTLY, if you want to claim for the first payments from 30th March, you need to ensure you pay each eligible employee a minimum of $3,000 by the 26th April. You are then reimbursed by the ATO on a monthly basis (in arrears) for the payments. We understand that this is causing confusion because the business is already suffering (obviously, hence claiming the JobKeeper), and may not have the cashflow available to continue to make the payments. When asked to clarify this, the ATO stated that they encourage businesses to talk their bank about short-term funding. Please ensure you are on top of all the eligibility criteria before applying so that you don't get caught out. Contact us if you have any queries.

Whether you are an employee or running your own business, if you are doing work from home, you can potentially claim for expenses relating to your work. This can b...e home office expenses like computers, printers, furniture etc and also a portion of phone and internet costs, heating, cooling and electricity costs etc. In some circumstances, you could even claim a portion of your rent or mortgage interest, insurances and rates. If you are lucky enough to be one of the ones who has flexibility to work from home, don't risk missing out on the right amount of deductions - get in touch with us today so we can get you the best outcome.
