24.01.2022 HAVE YOU HEARD..... Of Dermaplaning? It's a service we introduced a couple of months ago, and it has been soooo popular!... So what is it? Dermaplaning is a non-invasive, mechanical exfoliation by the controlled scraping of the skin using a sterile surgical blade held at a 45-degree angle, for the removal of keratinised cells on the outer stratum corneum and fine vellus hair (your peach fuzz). Why do people get it done? It stimulates cellular turnover and increases circulation, resulting in hydration, collagen, and elastin production. Will it hurt? It is a painless procedure and there is no down-time. What will happen to the hair, will it come back darker? Dermaplaning doesn't change the structure of the hair, it simple cuts it off at surface level. So your soft fluffy hair will grow back being soft and fluffy, it won't grow back thicker, darker or prickly. Only terminal hair (the already prickly ones) will grow back that way. Dermaplaning is not for these hairs, and they will be plucked out if there's only a couple, or waxed before the treatment begins if need be. Who can have it?
