10.01.2022 Didn't get the new iMac or Macbook you were hoping for this Christmas? Don't worry - Vivid Computers has you covered with free quotes on all upgrades. You know the saying, "They don't make them like they used to" ? Well that has never been more true than with newer Mac products. ... Most modern Mac's now have soldered on RAM and SSD (storage space) so you can never upgrade or replace these parts if you run out of space or if something goes wrong. Sadly they also now have GLUED IN batteries, which means even a simple task of replacing a battery now takes a few hours and a reasonable amount of skill (Not to mention up to 5 different types of skrewdriver). We're still upgrading and reparing iMacs from as old as 2008, which means their happy owners have aleady gotten 12 years of life from their investment, and we expect to get about 5 more years per tune up / upgrade. That's a massive 17 ish years from one computer - and it's still meeting their needs and running along as good as ever - see some of our previous video's as proof. NOW... sadly the reaility is much different, in our iMac scenario the RAM is hidden behind a very breakable screen (which is also glued on) and the Hard drive is soldered to the board.. so no upgrades and no replacements... ever..... and I hate to say it but ALL drives whether they're SSD, HDD, IDE or PATA (and whatever comes next) fail eventually. Usually around the 5 year mark, but we've seen it happen sooner... and that's assuming of course that it's even your fault. Spill some water on your new Macbook and you're files arent saved? Unless we can repair your board (which requires a microscope and some very fiddly soldering) your data is gone for good in most cases. No more popping out the drive and getting on with your day. So no more PC's or laptops which are designed to see out the decade... Please keep and upgrade your old mac. It's been designed to last and be repaired. We can't say as much for the new models (approx 2017 or newer) But it's not all Doom and Gloom! We offer free in store assessment and quotes on all upgades and fast turn around times on all repairs, or message us here on Facebook for a "subject to assessment" pricing on repairs and upgades.

04.01.2022 Looking for a new computer? Don't get what's "Left" after the sales, get the right machine with the power, reliability and repairability to last for 5 years, not 5 minutes. We are computer REPAIRERS, not retailers, so we know what breaks, and what NOT to buy. ... We are absolutely sick of seeing people who've spent thousands on a new laptop only a few years old which has to be thrown away because it can't be repaired or upgraded in any way. Or machines of such poor quality that they simply fall apart after a year of normal use. We offer free in store quotes on upgrades and tune ups, so you may be able to save a bunch of money AND keep the laptop you love. BUT we also sell laptops and desktops from over 5 different Australian based wholesalers, so we can get you EXACTLY what you're looking for. Fair warning, we don't sell $500 laptops and there are some models we simply refuse to sell becuase they're in for repairs ALL THE TIME! So come in and bring your old computer, we'll tell you if it's upgradable, or if it really is time to buy a new one. This assessment is 100% FREE and has no obligation at all. If you buy a new machine form us we can also.. Transfer all your data and programs Transfer all your settings, favourites and desktop Set up your printers and more! Basically get everything up and running so you can transition to your new destop or laptop as quickly and painlessly as possible. So come in for a no pressure chat and advice from people who REALLY know what they're talking about when it comes to computers.
