23.01.2022 Precious girl, if I could, I would photograph you every couple of years for the rest of your life. Then you'd be able to look back on all the incredible photographs you have of yourself: from this young girl, to you as a bubbly tween, then a moody teen, and then again at the end of high school as an incredible young woman. After that I'd photograph you again at the end of university as you set off to pursue a career and transform the world-- as we all aim to do at the e...nd of uni. I'd create your first corporate portraits, and then photograph you and your mum together before you marry and start a family of your own. I would photograph your growing belly during your pregnancy and then photograph you again with your babies. I'd watch you grow and mature, and start to age. I would bear witness to your mellowing as you soften into motherhood and begin to see your own mother with a fresh understanding of what she has done for you. I'd watch as you loved your mum into her old age, and I would grieve with you when you eventually lost her... and if I could, I would photograph you into your 70s and beyond, with your own adult children and their children, the matriarch of your family. And you would have all those photos of yourself from childhood right through. You would see your beauty begin, grow, and fade. You would see your body change, gain weight, lose weight, grow and give birth to babies, and suffer all sorts of pains and losses throughout your life, and you would be able to look back across all of it, and see that you have been perfect all along; that it is in your imperfection that your truest beauty and strength lie. If I could, that's what I would do for you, precious girl.

22.01.2022 NUDE??!!?? In front of a stranger...with a camera? I know it sounds nerve-wracking. And in some ways I guess it is...but it's also not as hard as it sounds. I know you don't believe me right now, but it's actually a really fun day to come in for a photoshoot... especially a boudoir shoot! ... First up, you'll be pampered with professional hair and makeup styling, a lovely opportunity to relax, so different from the usual daily makeup routine that gets interrupted about 20 times by your kids needing you! After that, it's a fun day at the office. Seriously, it really is a fun day. I will guide you every single step of the way, posing you from you little toe all the way up to your last eyelash. You'll be so busy concentrating on what I'm telling you, that you'll forget you're being photographed. And if you do have time to think, you'll probably be saying something like, "This pose is so odd, it can't possibly look good!" 20.01.2022 Really missing being in the studio with all my wonderful clients and makeup artists. Rest assured, though, I'm getting ready to be able to offer services again -- perhaps limited to start with -- once stay at home orders are lifted. We've always been careful with cleanliness and hygiene, and we will ramp that up even more once we're back shooting again, plus meet whatever additional guidelines the government puts in place. Every year I tell myself I won't keep saying yes to more an more work, and every year I realise I'm kidding myself.... I reckon if the government put a few dollars aside any time some uses the word unprecedented they’d soon have enough to help out sole traders who currently do not qualify for any kind of assistance to help them through this rough patch we’re all facing. What do you think?

17.01.2022 Progress update. I’ve moved a little over 5 cubes of mulch thanks to a couple of trees that blew over in a recent storm and in my down time turned my hand to this. I think I prefer the knitting, although the mulch moving does wonders for your upper arm tone.

17.01.2022 Come sit and have a cuppa with me. Oh, how I wish we could!! How have you been doing during the upheaval of COVID-19? If you've had days where you've been super productive and then days where it was all you could do to feed yourself and your family, that's okay. And pretty normal. If you're still here and surviving, then that's a job well done!... One thing I've learned throughout these last few months is that there really is no "I". We're all so much more interconnected than we realise. That's by no means a new concept. It's been around for millennia. I studied it in all sorts of philosophical texts over the years, especially during my training as a yoga teacher... but it was always just 'head knowledge', and not something that I'd really experienced deeply before. This pandemic has shown how intricately we are connected to each other and to our environment. There really is no I, no you, no me. There is just an 'us'. And as we begin to open up our economies around the world I think we're going to see that come into play even more. If you and I are to stay safe and well, then we must both do the right thing and practice good hand-washing, social distancing, staying at home if we're unwell... All that stuff. Not for our own health, but for each other's health and the well being of all. So as you begin to go out into the world again, take a great dose of kindness & compassion with you. Look at the people around you as if looking into a mirror. Care for them as you would yourself and your own family, because in fact we really are all #inthistogether. See more

You probably already know that I have a project going at the moment, where I'm interviewing and photographing 50 women about their journey to 50 years of age, how they thought they would feel, how they actually do feel.... 03.01.2022 This is the other style of folio box I offer: this one is gloss timber, with a perspex lid which allows your images to be on display, even when they're safely stored in the folio box. You can also stand these little babies up on a shelf like a clever little storage box and frame all in one. Cool, huh?! How do you like to display your photos? Are you a big and framed on the wall person? Or more of a tucked away in a folio box kinda gal. Or maybe an album or coffee table book is more your thing. The new version of my raw beauty shoots will include a pretty swish album/book as part of the package.
