The wedding was celebrated at the same place as the proposal - Oliveto Ristorante & Bar on the edge of the Parramatta river on a glorious sunny winters day. Smiles all round ! Such a joy to be part of the occasion. #winterwedding #romanticwedding #oliveto

22.01.2022 9 Easy Ways to include Children in your Wedding Ceremony A marriage ceremony includes making promises for a future life together. When children are part of the new union, it is a precious gesture to include them. Whether you are creating a blended family or an existing family, here are some beautiful ways to involve children of all ages in the ceremony. 1. The children can hand out ceremony booklets to the guests on arrival... 2. They can be junior bridesmaids and groomsmen. 3. You can write your children into your vows. 4. Ask your children to walk you down the aisle. 5. Have them blow bubbles or throw rose petals during the ceremony and photos. 6. The children can act as ring bearers 7. If they’re old enough, they can read a poem ‘ A Lovely Love Story ’ by Edward Monkton is a favourite of mine. So cute! 8. You can all sign a Family Certificate’ this is not the legal marriage certificate but allows the children to feel part of the new union in a formal way. And another favourite 9. You may wish to exchange a beautiful piece of jewellery that reminds them of this special day. At a recent wedding, after exchanging rings, the groom went down on his knees to the flowergirl who was the daughter of his new wife. He presented her with a special ring to acknowledge she was part of the new union. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house ! Whatever you choose , the true message involving children in a wedding ceremony is about promising to be there for them, to support them and love them unconditionally. Involving them in the ceremony not only gives them a role to play on the day but is a statement, in front of family and friends, of how important they are in your family. #childreninwedding #weddingceremony #weddings

21.01.2022 Your wedding ceremony is a time to celebrate your love and blend your families and loved ones together. 20.01.2022 There is a shift to unique, personal and fun wedding ceremonies created by each couple. And guests are loving the new freshness and difference. Here are my observations: Giving away’ - new alternatives- Bridesmaids linking bride’s arms and walking her down the aisle. & the bride and groom arriving 'Bridal Party' -bride’s male friend is included in her support team. Her' Man of Honour 'Dancing down the aisle' & even flash mob style bridal party exits up the aisle after... the ceremony. 'Guest photography ban' -social media ban till bride & groom put up their images It’s all about the couple being at the very heart of the celebration #weddingtrends #weddings #weddingceremonies

18.01.2022 Why do brides wear a veil? Why ring bells on a wedding day? It's all to do with keeping evil spirits away. That's also why the groom traditionally carries his bride over the threshold - so evil spirits cant come through her feet. And its OK to cry on your wedding day- tradition says shed all your tears now so you have none left for the marriage. Happy spirits only welcome here ! #weddingsuperstitions #weddingtraditions #weddings #weddingideas

17.01.2022 A first for everything - a wedding dress made from balloons. Yes this bride wore a dress made from balloons ... and made by the groom A most enchanted setting chosen for this magical wedding where the ribbons for the handfasting ceremony were offered by a puppet called Amadeus, the dream catchers hung from the tress and the bride's dress popped everytime she hugged a guest. 15.01.2022 What do you need to consider when booking your wedding venue ? The day can be impacted by many factors , for example the weather on the day. With summer ahead, here are a few tips to help choose the right wedding venue. Perhaps you have chosen a wedding venue which has special significance to you such as the place you met or where you proposed. Consider if it will accommodate the number of guests you wish at your wedding, is easy to find, will suit the style you want for y...our wedding. If you like a formal wedding will high heels work ? Outdoor weddings are really popular they are romantic and suit our climate and outdoor life style. However we need to acknowledge the weather on the day. I have celebrated many weddings in parks with fabulous views. At one wedding , in the blazing sun overlooking the harbour, there was one lone tree offering some shades for guests. I think they remembered the wedding for the wrong reasons. Here are few tips and tricks to ensure your guests are comfortable. *Have a basket of paper umbrellas - you can pick them up very cheaply online *Provide hand held fans you can even present your program as a fan! *A basket of bottles of water In the long days of summer, enhanced by daylight saving, there is a wonderful opportunity for wedding photos. But what do your guests do between the wedding ceremony and reception? At a recent wedding in the Hunter Valley, the bride and groom arranged fun games to be played in the fields during their photo session. At another, the guests were provided with a list of local coffee shops. At another wedding where there were a lot of overseas guests, a coach took the guests on a tour of Sydney. Destination weddings are increasingly popular. We are fortunate to have many beautiful locations along the Australian coastline, in the mountains around Sydney and even offshore islands. You will need to give your guests extra advance notice if you choose this path. Wherever you decide to celebrate your wedding, it will be a thrill to support your wedding celebration. Happy planning ! #outdoorweddings #weddingceremony #weddings

13.01.2022 3 tips for wedding wellness - how to be a beautiful, relaxed bride. Take care of your self: 1. Include exercise in your routine. Whatever works for you - walking, cycling or dancing in your lounge room . Any physical movement creates endorphins which help fight stress.... 2 Pamper yourself. A massage, facial, manicure or pedicure can reduce your stress levels. These assist you to stay well-balanced and on task. Even a simple relaxing bath can wash away stress. Delegate tasks: A wedding involves a lot of detail and organisation -you can't do everything yourself. Ask friends and family to help and you will probably find they will love to do so. Express your feelings: 1. Writing is a safe and accessible way for you to express your emotions. Nips them in the bud before you become anxious. Identify what's bothering you, and address that topic solely. For example, if you're upset that your sister won't be at your wedding , title the entry "Missing Sis," and write only about this to avoid flooding yourself with too many emotions at once. 2. 01.01.2022 What has the university of Cambridge got to do with a marriage celebrant ?! It is the setting for one of the most romantic stories behind a recent wedding ceremony I celebrated. It was a couple who met in their twenties when at Cambridge university . They made a pact to marry - called Plan A. They drifted apart, married others , had children and then divorced. One married an Australian and moved to Melbourne. The other visited a friend in Melbourne after 20 years. The couple re-met in Melbourne. ' It was as if time had stood still' said the groom. So 28 years after they met, plan A took place in a quaint bookshop in inner city Sydney. This is one of the many stories behind the celebrations I feel so privileged to be part of. # weddingstories # weddingceremonies
