25.01.2022 We are aware of a 5 year old neutered male who is in need of special conditions in his new home. It must be a home without children - resident or visiting really. He will be better without another dog - he can be good with dogs who are not pushy. He has some anxiety issues, but is also a nice dog who loves quiet people and cuddles. Unfortunately, some things in his life have been managed inappropriately with outdated training advice and the owner realises the damage done by those. Please contact Ros, via the club's website if you need more information on him and would like to have a chat to his owners.

22.01.2022 Excellent news, Dobbio has gone to a contact of the shelter who has Vizsla experience. We are sure he’s in a good place in his new home

20.01.2022 HVCNSW has a young (2 1/2) desexed female Vizsla in need of a new home. We do have some great options on our books, but this girl will need to go to a home with... no other dogs. She was rehomed to a great family some weeks ago, but after a period issues (Probably resource guarding) arose between the family's other young female and Nalah, so we think it is safer to have her go to a family with no other dogs. She needs some work, has not had enough training at this point in her life, but we will support her in various ways. Please contact Ros if you might be the right home. Experience preferred for this young girl. Please complete the questionnaire on http://vizsla.org.au/rescue-rehome/ and contact Ros for further information through the website. See more

01.01.2022 More on the assisted rehome. 3 yr old desexed Luna is not a good fit in her current home. She is somewhat reactive, is not suitable for a home with cats or kid...s, needs input to help retrain her, and she needs someone who can give her more time to work through this. In the right environment with the right help, she is likely to be a typical Vizsla, but one that will require lifelong understanding of her beginnings. We have rehomed other dogs from this breeder (fortunately no longer breeding!), and they need help to calm themselves and be more responsive. They don't do well as 24/7 outdoor dogs. The HVCNSW currently does not have appropriate foster care available, otherwise we would accept her surrender to the club and work though some of these issues. So we are prepared to assist and support her placement in the right home by providing assistance from Dr Kat Gregory, behavioural vet. Please if you think you are up to this, contact Ros via our club website or PM this page. Even if you'd just like to chat about how this could work. See more
