At 4 in the morn, A road weary trucker was chasing the dawn The workload relentless At this time of year Delivering all the toys, clothes, food and cold beer! The shelves would be empty The pubs would run dry Without all those drivers in rigs flying by There's a jolly old fat man sittin up inside But there aren't any reindeer This ain't no sleigh ride! Just horsepower and diesel and trailers of freight Another damn time slot, a load that can't wait! It happens all over this big country wide It's a life that he chooses A job done with pride So spare a thought this Christmas when you're out in the shops For the jolly old bloke who's work never stops He asks you no favour, no prize or applause Just remember a wish for the real Santa Claus!
