25.01.2022 Doesn't get much better than this. Some pics from last night. A cool spring night with some amazing 2m tropo between VK3 and VK7 over Bass Strait. 350km with 5 watts and 5 elements. QRP at its best. Hopefully a sign of things to come for the summer season here in the southern hemisphere. Stations worked included VK7JON, VK7DW, VK7MD and VK7DC all 59+ Hopefully it will all happen again today. #amateurradio #hamradioantennas #hamradiooperators #hamradio #vhf #icom #troposphere #hamradioporn #hamradiostuff

23.01.2022 Working VK7 from a portable location on the Mornington Peninsula with VK3FLJD. Amazing DX with the IC-705 barefoot (5w) into a newly built 5 element yagi. Worked VK7DW, VK7MD, VK7DC and VK7JON some 330km away over Bass Strait on a brisk spring evening. Bill VK3CWF was also off the back of the beam. Thanks to all for a fun DX outing.

18.01.2022 Haven’t built an antenna this big (low in frequency) for ages! 5 elements on 2m. Resonant at 145.0 MHz. It’s lightweight for portable use :) That’s another lockdown project done. #hamradioantenna

12.01.2022 Can't remember the last time the SFI was above 75. It's 82 today. :) https://www.solarham.net/

09.01.2022 Great tear-down video of the IC-705. Don't try this at home!

03.01.2022 3.4 GHz 2 watts and a PCB antenna. Stunning signals across Port Phillip Bay to Rob VK3KRD, Rob VK3IE, and Neil VK3BCU. All stations between 60 and 70km away. There was a storm heading over the bay.
