25.01.2022 Another day on water learning how to approach/come along other boats. 2nd August 2020. Also the same day 401 went out on a patrol over to the fish pond area and back navigating via the onboard chart plotter.

24.01.2022 A productive day deflating one of our Rescue vessels Matilda and checking out any problems. We do have a few over seeyers though lol

24.01.2022 Yesterday was First Aid kit inspection day. Forgot how many we need.

22.01.2022 A busy day at the Ulverstone boat ramp yesterday. Counted 38 trailers in the car park and one person wanting to dive near the ramp (no dive flag used).

21.01.2022 I was nominated by one of my members, for the Emergency Service Volunteer of the year Award. On Friday 7AD rang me to pronounce to me that I had won it. Thank you Brayden Flannery. Im overwhelmed with gratitude. xxxx

20.01.2022 These poor buggers came all the way up from Hobart, on Y to have an electrical issue and not get on the water. Recon a 5 kilo hammer would have fixed the frustration.

20.01.2022 Very busy Sundays with some V.H.F basics, and installation tutorials.

20.01.2022 It would be remiss of me not to mention the hardest working person at the training camp. The participants must have used up a million calories a day doing the training and Graham (Rolly) Rollins, worked tirelessly keeping up with the grub. His constantly evolving soup was so packed with goodness I swear to God you could see the guys gain weight as they chaffed into it. Pictured are toasted sangas made at 2300 Hrs, for our benefit. Thanks Graham.

19.01.2022 Couple of photos from a training day where members undertook shallow water boat handling skills 14th june 2020

19.01.2022 Picked up some old out board motors. Going to turn them into educational display props (pardon the pun).

19.01.2022 Not a bad days racing, bloody wind was a problem. Hope the guys operating the Jet Boat for the Wynyard to Burnie marathon had a safe day. Not often all the rescue boats at Ulverstone VMR get used coving events on the coast with SLST.

18.01.2022 Following best practices, as recommended by the health department. Our V.M.R base will be closed until further notice. We will however still be on call out procedures.. Be safe everyone.

17.01.2022 An amazing day at our base yesterday, caught up with all my paperwork. So spent some time meeting a few boat people taking some photos, and my members learning the ropes.

16.01.2022 Great day helping Devonport Surf Club with their Pub to Club swim.

16.01.2022 Made a temperature sensor today. Hope to add barometric pressure and humidity and use a display for the fishermen who use the ramp to get latest current info.

15.01.2022 Hows this for weird. Apparently it is caused by opposing fronts

15.01.2022 Starting the junior racing. Boat from 9 to 15 hp. Only one driver was spat out and needed rescue today.

12.01.2022 Pretty busy day today. Helped a boat owner get this big bugger on their trailer.

11.01.2022 Have an old boat trailer for sale once we have finished refurbishing it. Good for up to 4.2 meter. Good tires and reg.

10.01.2022 VMR Uverstone members getting a feeling how a centre console vessel handles versus our unit vessels. This is a 5.41mtr long 2.2mtr wide powered by a 4 stroke suzuki 70hp. Has some interesting toys on it as well for members to play with. (Hence the fishing rods)

10.01.2022 Here is one I completed sometime ago.

08.01.2022 Shelly at the gate. No one get by without paying, doubling the price if abuse is offered.

08.01.2022 Made this rig to help teach members the basic knots and rope work that will be expected of them. The training tool can cover all the basics and some advanced rope work.

07.01.2022 Completed some towing practice today. Rather than focus on the physcial aspect, we focused on procedure. Starting from activation, gathering information and briefing whilst looking over a chart. Then expectations of the crew while on the water and what process and procedure is used when on site. A heavy emphasis was placed on radio procedure. Pictured are my cheeky new crew Braden and Broden. From this the boys learnt it is not a simple matter of "go go go" when activated. But rather "who, what where and how".

07.01.2022 SSS course participants.

07.01.2022 Out patrolling yesterday.

02.01.2022 Had a great weekend, participating in the SLST Swift Water/Flood Rescue course. Defiantly not for old men, but gave it a good Collage try. Here are some pics of the SLST members going over some basic rafting techniques on flat water before going onto the fast water and Rapids the next day. A great bunch of lads and was proud to be a part of it for the weekend. Have lot more pic to post over the coming days.

02.01.2022 Some of the dollars tied up in boat racing. A great turn out of boat today, bloody shame the wind was an issue.
