24.01.2022 Ive been telling students about this for a while now and one 12 year old flat out told me I was just wrong! So anyway - theres actual research and heres Spencer (wonderful voice teacher) telling it like it is. Pass me my coffee - and yes Ill have cream in that, thank you. G

I'm sure the audience at Tuesday's WA Pitch Perfect 3 premier enjoyed the flash back to the first Pitch Perfect movie and a little Ed Sheeran / TLC

22.01.2022 ..and thats a wrap! Again, all I say about last nights showcase is that Im genuinely proud of every single person who performed. The level of growth you all demonstrated was fantastic. Im also grateful to the awesome audience who created such a great atmosphere. ... Such an enjoyable night. But lastly Im grateful to my family, who have to put up with tired, grumpy me in the run up to the show whilst I work late preparing all the tracks and the lighting, and then they themselves work their butts off all day on show day helping transport all the gear, set up, film, pack away etc. Love you guys (and gal ). 10.01.2022 Ummm... well. What a night last night. The VocalTech Showcase. What can I say? The predictable thing to say is that Im proud of everyone but Id like to be more specific than that. Of course Im proud of all the singers that got up and nailed some really tough songs and performed them like pros.... I was damn worried having to sing after those performances! You guys know how to put the pressure on an old fella dont ya? The thing is, I think maybe Im even more proud of the ones who struggled a little. Because they were pushing themselves. Inspired by their peers to raise their game. None - not one - let me or themselves down. They found the courage to get up there when some were shaking with fear. They sang and even if every note wasnt perfect, they showed the colors of their voices, told the stories of their songs and took another step on their journey. Because its always a journey. They are the ones who will surprise us most next showcase. A rising tide raises ALL ships! Love you guys! Proud Dad.

10.01.2022 Hey, so clearly we all work to make the money that pays the bills, but I know that we are lucky that we also get to do something we really love and ESPECIALLY when you get a message like this after your showcase..... "Hi Louise and Gareth. Thanks for a great evening on Sunday. So much talent. (xxxx) came home bouncing off the walls feeling so proud of herself. I love seeing her belief in herself grow. She said it felt really good performing her song (which she loves) and hopes to sing it again. Shes not quite ready to put that one to bed yet . Such a beautiful song. The thing I loved the most was how they all supported and motivated each other. Together you have created something very special that goes far beyond the music. Looking forwards to seeing the next shows."

02.01.2022 So the Showcase happened last night .... again, the performers blew me away! So proud of you all. And such an awesome crowd - truly supportive and appreciative. I do my best not to complain about the massive amount of work that takes place in the run up and on the day, but nights like that genuinely make it all worth while. Thank you to everyone involved.
