02.01.2022 Today at 12.25pm we watched as the Hazelwood Chimneys were demolished, while it is the end of an era it could also be a new start for the Latrobe Valley. Hazelwood has served us well & supplied the state with 25% of the electricity for 50 yrs until it closed in 2017. The guys that operated the Power Station were amazing keeping Hazelwood going for so long especially in the last year's as she started dying. With mixed feelings amongst the community about today's demolition. Let's imagine what we want to create into the future. The dust settled quickly with no spikes in the https://lvin.org/#/ network of air quality monitors. #endofanera #LatrobeValley #Hazelwood GippsNews "feel free to share"
