Date: Friday 1st November Time: 9.30am-1.00pm --> 2hrs volunteering followed by BBQ and an opportunity to swim Location: Sorrento Beach https://goo.gl/maps/irJQuLiEiQCze2K39... Contact person: Hannah Gulliver 0499 104 660 Activity: Reduce your pre-exam stress and do some good for the Earth this study break! Join Perth NRM and the Friends of Sorrento Beach for a morning to attack the weeds at Sorrento Beach, followed by a BBQ (provided by Perth NRM) and a swim to refresh yourself. You will be helping to remove weeds before they drop their seed, this will mean that you will reduce the competition for our native plant species and increase habitat values for our wonderful native animal and birds. All in a mornings work! What to bring: Please be sun safe, and wear enclosed shoes. We recommend long pants to stop getting scratched walking past bushes, you can bring shorts or bathers to change into after. Bring a hat and a water bottle, we will provide the rest! Getting there: Park in the car park just North of the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club, just South of Hilarys. 01.01.2022 Happy New Year! I am so pleased to post this picture of the new Red Cross Soup Van, purchased with funds raised by the Bindaring Clothing Sale. Those in need have been using the service which is located in Fremantle. Without volunteers like you, it would not be possible to raise the funds needed to make a difference to the lives of those who really need it. THANK YOU! I hope you all had a relaxing holiday season and a big welcome to an exciting 2020 ahead!... PS. We will be volunteering at the Bindaring Clothing Sale again this year in May, so watch this space :)
