24.01.2022 The June Social Meeting and Coffee Run (scheduled for this week) have unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the current limits on gatherings and travel distances. Should you have a club permit renewal that needs to be signed, please follow the normal mail or online processes. If you need to organise a new permit, please contact the permit officers to arrange an inspection. Hope to be able to catch up with you all soon.... Keep on Dubbin' VWCV

23.01.2022 The VWCV committee has made the difficult decision to cancel our flagship event, Day of the Volkswagen 2020, due to be held on the 15th of November. We had hoped that we would be able to go ahead with the Day of the Volkswagen, however given that we have now gone back into Stage 3 restrictions we feel that the timeline for coming out of restrictions (i.e. back to normal life) will not allow us to run the Day of the Volkswagen 2020. This event usually sees over 500 people thro...ugh the gates, at this stage we do not believe that gathering restrictions will be lifted in time to allow for an event of this size to take place. In addition to this, it takes a large amount of planning to run this event which unfortunately cannot be done at the last minute. We have therefore made the difficult decision to cancel the event for this year. The DOVW will be back next year, hopefully bigger and better than before. Stay safe Regards Matthew Collis VWCV President

19.01.2022 Kombi wanted for photoshoot. My fiance and i are getting married in November in the Yarra Valley. Ceremony, reception and our accomodation is all on site. So w...e don't need cars. However, we would love pics with a restored classic kombi. Is there anyone in the group nearby that is free for 30 mins to allow us to have memorable pics with their pride and joy.

18.01.2022 VWCV would like to thank everyone that attended RED car show yesterday. Special thanks to all organisers and volunteers that helped make it a successful day. Thanks to Chris Scane for the photographs.

17.01.2022 Some aerial shots of yesterdays Rear Engine Design car show thanks to Peter Davies. A great day with over 140 cars on show. Thanks again to all involved.

14.01.2022 Renewing your Club Permit (For the foreseeable future will only be done via post): As soon as you get your permit renewal follow the following points. 1. Check your membership is up to date (you require at least 2 months remaining).... 2. Post your renewal to the PO box in a C5 size envelope. 3. Include a stamped self addressed C5 envelope. 4. Do not use express post or registered post, this is a waste of money and can delay the return of your permit. 5. Do not send your membership renewal with your club permit renewal as they are managed by two different people. 6. Allow 2 to 3 weeks for your permit to be returned. VW Club of Victoria GPO Box 1215, Melbourne 3001 The PO box is emptied early Friday morning before the post office opens and forwarded to the permit officers for processing. Registered post requires the person who collects the mail to return later to collect it. This is not always possible and therefor may result in several days delay. Getting a new club permit. 1. First and most important read the guidelines on the club web site. Link Below: http://www.vwclub.com.au//76827975/vwcv_club_permit_a4_10- 2. Before you do anything else, Contact the club permit officer via email ([email protected]) to ensure your vehicle meets the requirements. 3. You will then need to organise a roadworthy certificate. Do not do this until you have spoken to the club permit officer. 4. Roadworthy certificates are only valid for 28 days. 5. You will need to join the club. 6. You will need to have your vehicle inspected for suitability by the permit officers. 7. The Club charges a fee for this inspection that needs to be paid prior to the inspection date. Points 3, 5 and 6 are VIC Roads requirements. VWCV Committee June 2020

13.01.2022 The VWCV has reviewed the current situation and on advice received are unfortunately unable to conduct any new CH (club) permit inspections whilst level 3 restrictions are in place. Therefore we advise any members wishing to obtain a new CH permit not to obtain a roadworthy certificate as they are likely to expire before we are able to undertake inspections again. This will be reviewed once restrictions begin to be lifted. Please DO NOT contact the club permit officers regar...ding this as they are unable to make any exceptions. Existing permit holders are asked to continue to follow the mail in procedure to get their permits signed. Stay Safe Matthew Collis VWCV President

13.01.2022 Had a great day at Red2021 with the Renner Auto Speedster. The event was very well organised by the Volkswagen Club of Victoria. Met some great people and was f...ortunate enough to take the awards for Best Interior, Best Paint and Best Car. A huge thanks to Peter at Re-creation automotive for their work on the paint, it really is 1st class. Also Emmanuel at The Trim Shop for their work on the interior. I cannot wait to get the next cars complete for customers so that we can all attend future shows in a group. See more

10.01.2022 For those with or looking to get a CH Permit, Vic roads have made changes.

09.01.2022 Hello Dubber's At the most recent committee meeting it was unfortunately decided that the annual VW swap meet held at Seaworks in Williamstown as well as the German Auto Show will not be held in 2020 due to covid 19. Both of these events take a huge amount of planning (too much to go ahead and cancel at the last minute and also too much to leave until the last minute). Both events will return in 2021. On a brighter note, planning for Day of the Volkswagen (15 November 2020) w...ill continue as normal although to run DOVW we are relying on most if not all of the covid 19 restrictions to be lifted. A final decision on whether or not DOVW goes ahead will therefore not be made until October 1st (at the latest). Let's all do the right thing and stay safe. Keep on Dubbin' Matthew Collis VWCV President

08.01.2022 Important Update: As most of you will be aware, we had to change the date of the AGM at the last minute (there was unfortunately a mix up with the venue). We apologise for any inconvenience this caused members and gave notice as soon as we became aware of the issue. After further consideration and to be able to give members sufficient notice of the new date, we have decided to hold off on having the 2019/2020 AGM until May. The AGM will therefore now be held on the 20th of M...ay 2021. We will still have a social meeting this week (22nd of April 2021) so please do join us for a catch up if you are able to. Dates are therefore as follows: 22nd April 2021 - VWCV Social Meeting (Austrian Club) 20th May 2021 - VWCV 2019/20 AGM (Austrian Club) Once again, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience that these changes may have caused. 05.01.2022 What a glorious sight to see back in 1962.

03.01.2022 Presidents report September 2020 Hello Dubbers Nothing to report on this month, but i would like to remind members of last months CH permit renewal update.... For those members that have CH permits, Vic Roads are now allowing online payments for your renewals. To pay your permit online, you first need a my VicRoads account with your CH permitted car linked to that account ( if it isn’t currently linked, you will need to call VicRoads to have it linked). Your renewal papers will still need to be signed by one of our club permit officers. This can be done by post as normal (or you may request a club permit endorsement form to be signed by one of our permit officers if you are unable to post your renewal form). The endorsement form can be downloaded from the VicRoads website and filled in by the member before emailing it to our club permit officer who will sign and return it to you. Once you have signed the renewal notice, submit it along with the signed endorsement form (proving you are a financial member) to VicRoads and pay the renewal fee in one of the following manners: Online via your my VicRoads account By visiting a VicRoads branch Mailing a cheque or money order to VicRoads As always if you have any questions/queries please contact myself and/or the appropriate committee member via email. P.S All mail sent to the club P.O Box Should be addressed to VW Club of Victoria GPO Box 1215, Melbourne 3001 ( no other names needed ) Please allow plenty of time if mailing your renewal as we have had to redirected club mail, due to (covid restrictions) and it is taking up to 4 weeks to get to us. Stay Safe and Keep on Dubbin' in Lock Down Oh and bring on 2021 coz I am over 2020. OVER IT, OVER IT, OVER IT Matthew Collis VWCV President
