24.01.2022 Our Brisbane South (Mansfield) squad hit the sand this morning at Sandstorm beach club (home of the Women's Beach Volleyroos) for the first time this year in perfect conditions. The athletes learnt about moving across the sand effectively as well as playing "small" to combat the effects of wind and to maximise efficiency and ball control. Well done to both squads.

24.01.2022 The sixth session of Day 1 is underway at the Wide Bay regional camp. Athletes are working hard on jump float serves and spiking including learning about transitioning efficiently from defense to attack phases.

20.01.2022 The Emerging Talent boys squad at our Brisbane North - Craigslea SHS Friday night centre is kitted up in the new uniform and enjoying a game of two-ball domination to finish their session. We still have a limited number of squad positions available at Craigslea SHS on Friday evenings for male and female athletes showing potential in volleyball. 19.01.2022 Please note that the Brisbane North - Craigslea SHS centre's third trial date for Monday 17th August has been changed to Monday 24th August due to the school requiring the sports hall for a school event. There is NO trial session on Monday 17th August. We will run the third trial session one week later on Monday the 24th August. All registered athletes and parents/guardians for this centre have been notified via email.

19.01.2022 A successful end to the Wide Bay Region Volleyball camp held at Aldridge State High School. A number of unique awards were on offer and the camp finished with some exciting volleyball games like "Double or Nothing" and "Minute to Win it!" Special thanks to the athletes for putting in an incredible effort, to the coaches for delivering an amazing experience, to Aldridge State High School and staff for hosting us and to the parents and guardians for getting athletes along each day from far and wide. Thanks Wide Bay and we hope to see you again soon!

19.01.2022 [Sunshine Coast Centre Venue Change]: Note that training this Thursday 15th October is at the Mooloolaba Beach Courts and both Male and Female athletes will train from 4:30pm - 6:00pm. A mud-map is attached for reference to find the beach courts at Mooloolaba. Please ensure athletes register their attendance upon arrival with the coaching staff. 18.01.2022 Training continues in the Emerging Talent program under the COVIDSafe plan in place... however, athletes, parents and guardians must adhere to the protocols put in place, and also please stay updated on the current contact tracing hotspot location list and do not attend training if you have been to any of the locations listed at https://www.qld.gov.au//cor/current-status/contact-tracing on the dates mentioned, or you are sick, or have any cold/flu or viral symptoms, or are awaiting a test-result (or any member of your family/household is awaiting a test result). We ALL play a vital role in ensuring the Emerging Talent program continues to run in the safest possible environment for athletes, families and staff.

18.01.2022 We are proud to announce a partnership with Redlands College and Sport at Redlands College who will be hosting our first Emerging Talent training centre in the Bayside region. The Bayside (Redlands College) centre will train on Saturday mornings from 8am-11am utilising the fantastic multi-court facility the college has to offer young volleyball athletes in the region. "Redlands College is a co-educational school providing quality learning experiences for students in Prep to Y...ear 12. Christ-centred excellence permeates everything the College does, achieving its mission to provide for students from across the community spectrum, a quality education which values respect for the individual, a commitment to excellence and the desire to develop one's God-given abilities." Trials for the Emerging Talent program (open to both male and female players from 10-18 years of age) are scheduled for the 1st, 8th and 15th August 2020. No previous volleyball experience is necessary. 18.01.2022 We are well into Day 2 of the Volleyball Australia Wide Bay Regional camp. Today athletes are learning blocking footwork, triple blocking as a blocking unit, diving types and technique to recover in defense and the different types of defensive systems used by the Australian senior Volleyroos teams.

17.01.2022 Our first Regional Camp is underway at Aldridge State High School (Wide Bay) and both male and female squads have completed their first specialised passing session. Athletes learnt to slow down their action for maximum control and precision and create the space needed to move into with their passing action. Next up, setting!

16.01.2022 Bayside (Redlands) and Mansfield Sunday centre Venue Change - please note that training on Saturday 31st October for the Redlands squad and Sunday 1st November for the Mansfield Sunday squad will be held at the Sandstorm Beach Club courts, located next to Nissan Arena at QSAC, Nathan. A map is attached for reference. Training times are as follows for both Saturday and Sunday: Male athletes: 8:00am - 9:30am... Female athletes: 9:30am - 11:00am. Athletes must bring a hat and sunscreen as well as a towel and additional set of clothing. More details have been emailed to each centre's athlete/parent/guardian group. 14.01.2022 The Emerging Talent Volleyball program has just started its second week of trials and the good news is that you can still register to trial at most of our training centres. Demand for the program this year has been very high, and as such, there are only a few places remaining at most of our centres. So whether you live in Brisbane, the Bayside Region, Logan, Darling Downs, Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast, there is a training option for you located nearby! 06.01.2022 Did you know? Current Australian Volleyball Academy (AVA) athlete, Ella Milne, started her volleyball pathway in the Emerging Talent (QLD) program. Ella spent one year in the Emerging Talent program at our Darling Downs centre, then played for Queensland (U17) at AJVC in 2019, before being invited to train at the AVA in Canberra, where she is completing Year 12 and training daily in both indoor and beach volleyball disciplines. Ella is just one of many examples of athletes th...at started in our program, and over time, have progressed up in the Volleyball Australia high-performance pathway. The fundamental skills and strategies we teach in the Emerging Talent program provide athletes like Ella with the solid skill and personal development foundation required to take their volleyball to the next level. 02.01.2022 Just a quick reminder that training for both the Redlands College and the Mansfield SHS Sunday centre group this weekend (28th and 29th Nov) is being held at Sandstorm Beach Club courts. There is no training session at Redlands (Sat) or Mansfield (Sun) this weekend. Training times at Sandstorm are the same as your normal session times. Athletes from any other Emerging Talent centre are also welcome to join the beach sessions this weekend - at no extra charge. Male athletes train from 8:00am - 9:30am and Female athletes train from 9:30am - 11:00am on both days. Please send an email to Dean (head coach) if you would like to attend the beach sessions this weekend (numbers may be limited). Remember your hat, sunscreen, sunglasses (if used), spare change of clothes and towel. No hat or sunscreen = no training. See you all on the sand!
