18.01.2022 U19 & 21’s AUSTRALIAN BEACH CHAMPIONSHIPS ASCEND ON THOMPSONS BEACH IN 2021!!! Who’s excited for the 2021 U19 & 21 AUS Beach Champs? We sure are!! Volleyball Australia is excited to announce the 2021 event will be played on the beautiful banks of the Murray River!!! Thompsons Beach is the largest Inland Beach in Australia and has seen the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour (ABVT) play there the past two summers. It is a unique location, very picturesque with koalas in the tree...s watching you play volleyball to kangaroos bouncing by. The locals love coming to support the athletes every year, bringing spectators to enjoy the action filled events held on Thompsons beach. This event will be played over 3 days, directly after the completion of the ABVT round (Cobram-Barooga Classic). It has been a long time since we have had the chance to play in a National event and without the support from Cobram Barooga Business and Tourism this event would not be possible! So if you fall in the age bracket for U19 & 21’s AUS Beach Champs don’t miss this cracker of an opportunity to play in not just 1 but 2 National events across 5.5 days!!! The Adelaide camp has been an inspirational experience because of the opportunities it has given us to watch and train with the best volleyballers in the country, said AVA athlete Joshua Howat. This has given us something to aspire to, and to train hard so we can one day become Volleyroos ourselves!.
