11.01.2022 Over many years of working in Volleyball as a Coach, Manager and Administrator I run into the same challenge. How do we remove barriers for young people to enga...ge with us? Before I begin though I want to clarify a few things. This post is not about who built this fence in the middle of the school football goal posts. It's not about who proposed it, designed it, built it, approved it or paid for it. I don't see the point in blaming anyone as I don't believe it helps. I'd rather discuss the more broader issue across sport that this image represents. This is a common problem I see in remote and suburban communities alike. In clubs, associations and private providers across the Top End and possibly the world. I believe the backbone of all Sports is Junior Development and with that in mind, an organisation should plan, budget and goal set based on delivering safe, quality and affordable access to sport. Next time you make a decision as an Administrator, Coach or Manager ask yourself this - "Is this making it easier or harder for young people to engage with us?" #volleyball #sports #juniordevelopment #alwayswasalwayswillbe #naidoc2020

10.01.2022 Best of luck everyone
