21.01.2022 YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS! 3 of our best players in the league didnt get as much MVP votes this season! Alfred is one of the best pass hitters in the group, Lina is one of our finest setters and Elva is undeniably an exceptional all-around player! They could literally be the MVPs of our leaguebut the votes didnt agree. ... And for the fun of it, we are awarding the person who got the least vote. Believe it or not, the winner got only 1 vote the entire season, hence we are calling it One Hit Wonder. This is somewhat our version of the #woodenspoon award. Want to know who it is? Find out during the Awards Night on the 15th of Nov at Two Hands Bar! Hit going on the event page and join the fun!

21.01.2022 Cheers to more volleyball fun in 2020!

08.01.2022 Dear Volley Friends, As the implications and scope of the COVID-19 coronavirus develop, we urge everyone to follow the latest news and recommendations, and to keep safe and informed. SYMPTOMS... Patients with COVID-19 have experienced mild to severe respiratory symptoms. According to the World Health Organization, the most common symptoms included fever, a dry cough, and shortness of breath. TRAVEL If you have traveled to an area considered a level 3 high risk by the US Center for Disease Control then you must follow the CDC guidelines for a 14 day self-quarantine upon your return. Although the CDC is a US organization, it reviews data and provides guidance on a global scope. Currently the CDC has identified China, South Korea, Italy, and Iran as level 3 high risk countries. HYGIENE BEST PRACTICES: Please see the guidelines outlined by the World Health Organization (https://www.who.int//novel-coronavirus-2/advice-for-public): Please be responsible for your own health and for that of others: If you are feeling ill, please stay home and seek medical attention if you develop a fever, cough, and/or difficulty breathing. Wash your hands often with soap and water and avoid touching your face; if soap isnt available, use antibacterial wipes or a hand sanitizer. Maintain social distancing between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the spread of respiratory viruses from person to person happens among close contact (within 6 feet). Turn away from people and cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow (not your hand) or a tissue when you cough or sneeze; dispose of used tissues immediately. 08.01.2022 The recent bushfires around the country have negatively impacted so many lives and our environment. As part of a bigger community, VFUM endeavoured to contribute towards helping those who are in need, in the best way we can. Sandclash 4 was about getting together to raise awareness of our responsibility in the bigger community, having fun playing the sport as a whole and enjoying the company of our old and new friends. We have raised a total of $581.21 from the event and VFUM... is doubling this amount as the clubs contribution. In total, we have donated $1,162.42 ($1,163) to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal. (https://www.communityenterprisefoundation.com.au//bushfir/) We would like to thank everyone who have supported this cause especially to all the individuals who have sponsored raffle prizes and made significant donations. We should all be proud to be part of a volleyball community that cares and takes actions to make a difference, no matter how big or small. Congratulations to all our winners and thank you for all your support! #bepartofthefun #VFUMgivesback #bushfireappealvictoria #123happy #VFUMQuokkas

07.01.2022 Community sports clubs across Australia are closed. Many will find it hard to survive. "This crisis isnt just about clubs temporarily being out of action, or sportspeople not being able to compete. Entire communities are at risk. Sport provides physical activity, a sense of identity and social engagement, and enhances physical, mental, and emotional health. It is the lifeblood for many communities. In helping sport survive and thrive, we are helping communities right across ...Australia." - @australiansportsfoundation If you know any sporting club who might need support, share this survey link. https://covid.sportsfoundation.org.au/ Your local sports clubs need your help!

05.01.2022 Dear Volley Friends, Our greater community needs you. This bushfire event is far from over and we are committed to supporting Victorian communities impacted by fire.... The Victorian Government has partnered with Bendigo Bank and The Salvation Army to establish an appeal, with 100% of donated funds going directly to communities in need. An Advisory Panel, chaired by former Victorian Deputy Premier Pat McNamara, will consider and recommend where the funds are distributed. Donations can be made at any Bendigo Bank branch or online at Community Enterprise Foundation. If you are living outside Australia and would like to donate, please email Community Enterprise Foundation at: [email protected] and we will assist with your donation. The appeal will be conducted by the banks charitable arm, Community Enterprise Foundation. All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and donors will be provided with a tax receipt through the Foundation. The National Bushfire Disaster Appeal and state-based Bushfire Disaster Appeals are management accounts of Community Enterprise Foundation ABN 69 694 230 518, The Bendigo Centre, PO Box 480, Bendigo, Vic 3552. The Foundation will make distributions by way of grants, following receipt of applications from organisations endorsed with an item 1 Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).
