04.01.2022 Storm outage update 6.30am Unfortunately, the wild weather has continued to batter the regions this overnight resulting in more than 100 outages across the metr...o and southern parts of the grid 26 Western Power emergency response crews are continuing to work to address hazards and outages created by a severe weather front that crossed the W.A. coastline late yesterday evening. We are aware that many outages displayed on our online map currently list restoration times as 'unknown'. This is due to crews prioritising hazards before restoration works can commence. Our network operations team is using real-time data and satellite imagery to monitor the tail end of the storm and coordinate the emergency response teams. At the peak of the storm approximately 55,000 customers were affected by storm-related outages, however, our network operations team has been able to reduce that number to around 30,000 by back-feeding power around damaged areas. They will continue to use this process where it is safe to do so to restore homes and businesses while crews work on hazards and repairs. Please bear with us. We are all working to restore your power as quickly and as safely as possible.
