15.01.2022 At Sefton play group children were introduced to weight balance experience. We set up water activity with items that floats and sink such as rocks, leaves, boats etc .. Encourage Lara and children to predict and tell me what is going to happen to the leaf when it goes in water by using the words "sink and float "as shown in picture 1 At the play dough table we add a scale to support Aminah and the children thinking skills and encourage them to weigh the play dough, modelling... the language "heavy/light", check the scale to see the weight of the play dough. as shown in picture 2 Children develop a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, inquiry, experimentation, hypothesising, researching and investigating. Regards, Remonda Nohra Early childhood Educator
