25.01.2022 VEA has been busy conducting remote/online exams for US and Australian Amateur Licencing. We want to congratulate Jeff in VK6 upgrading to Extra Class, and Peter in VK3 obtaining his Extra Class. We currently provide weekly US online exam sessions.... 11.01.2022 Current COVID-19 situation in Victoria. The Victorian Government announced yesterday that as of 11:59 pm tonight Melbourne Metro will be going into complete Level 3 lockdown for approximately six weeks. Due to this announcement, we will be cancelling the AMC & ARRL VE exam session that was scheduled for the 22nd August 2020 in Melbourne.... Be aware we can conduct AMC Remote Online Examinations and ARRL VE Remote Online Examinations. So if you are ready to sit for an AMC Remote Online Exam or ARRL VE Remote Online Exam, get in touch with us at [email protected]. Stay Safe!

11.01.2022 Effective immediately, VEA have suspended the Western Australia exam session on the 26th March 2020 and the South Australia exam session on the 4th April 2020. We are monitoring the Coronavirus situation and will resume in-person testing when and where it is safe to do so based on the recommendations from State & Federal Government Authorities. Concerning the Victorian Exam session on the 2nd of May 2020 at the EMDRC clubrooms, at this stage it is still going ahead as planned..., will keep you informed about this exam session. On closing, some of you have asked about conducting remote testing but unfortunately, this process is only available in exceptional circumstances where US Citizens are involved. Stay Safe!

06.01.2022 For anyone wanting to study for their USA Ham licence, Doug VK4ADC (KX4SX) has put together a great FREE online and offline study option available for Technician, General and Extra Class Licencing. It's a study guide with all the real Questions and Answers from the actual current US question pools with over 1500 questions, along with a theoretical description for the correct answer. So it is not just "memorising" as some suggest but learning as you advance your knowledge in h...am radio. Once your happy and confident of a pass then just book your online remote USA (or AMC VK) exam session with VEA.org.au and for around $22 per exam session...(all 3 exams included if passing the prior one) it is worth it. Even have a local club competition or with your ham mates, see who passes with the highest score... :) Used in conjunction with Australian Regulations and Practical exams, one can process via RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) by application to AMC and by paying the RPL fee of $99, to an AOCP of equivalent level qualification as accepted by ACMA, whether that be Foundation, Standard or Advanced. Most will do this at the Extra Class to Advanced level as it is the most cost-effective RPL transition.
