19.01.2022 Nick Harvey - legend of Australian hunting was a most significant influence over the years and somebody whose whole lifetime work has been legendary in this field and my best friend and advisor thru his articles and seemingly endless knowledge. Live history and huge library of knowledge in one person. I hope to read his articles for many years to come. I think I read every word this man wrote in last 35 years. His work and example have influenced so many Aussie hunters over the decades.

16.01.2022 Finally found some red coats... followed them thru the small patch of forest and found them 800m across the valley half way up the hill. Nice to see them- but no trophy value there.....

15.01.2022 Had some time to kill so I got stuck into the old magazines and had a quick look at some of the older editions. Amazing how things changed over the years. I learned a lot about hunting and game around the world, different hunting cultures and regulations and most amazing trophies. It has been a food and great fun reading them at the time and now too. So many years went quickly but I enjoyed every minute of it.

05.01.2022 Always liked quality of NZ Hunting magazines and their uniquely ingenuity, exotic game, hunting methods and very practical Kiwi approach to real problems and obstacles. Some of them don't exist any more but there were very dear to me and have helped me a lot over the years. NZ has some very experienced writers and specialists in many areas and most of all some hard hunters who grew up on the glory and history of tahr and deer cullers. Those articles made me fall in love with Southern Alps.
