23.01.2022 Hi Everyone! Annually at the Tet festival, we showcase what our martial arts stands for. This allows the parents and the public to appreciate Vovinam but most of all, it serves as recognition for our students whom have tried so hard, week after week at training. Every year we train hard, every year we perform and every year we outdo ourselves. 22.01.2022 Hi all, Vovinam Queensland would like to wish all our students, their families and the greater community a happy, safe and merry Christmas in a year that was unlike any other. Please remember to enjoy and reward yourselves for getting through such a difficult year and our well wishes go to those who have to spend Christmas and New year with restrictions in place. We hope you all manage to find a way to spend time with loved ones, whether it be in person, socially distanced or... via social media and video chat. Know that no one is alone when you are part of our Vovinam family. We thank our community for their patience as we work on getting our training centre COVID safe and look forward to sharing with our students and families in the new year the developments we have in place for them (including a new training hall!). 21.01.2022 Exciting times yesterday: First Vovinam lesson for the year (although a trial COVID run and for senior belts only) and in the new hall! After that session, we're pretty sure everyone had a good sleep last night and ready to do it all again next week. Thank you all for turning up after such a long break and hope you all enjoyed being back as much as the instructors did despite our questionable fitness levels. We look forward to training with more people as the year goes on an...d opening up to all students. Keep checking here on Facebook for more information. 18.01.2022 TL;DR: All Vovinam activities will be cancelled due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak Dear all, In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, the Vovinam Executive committee, in consideration of the latest updates from the Qld Government and Centre for Disease Control, have decided to CANCEL ALL Vovinam activities effective Monday 16 March from 10pm onwards. This means all Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday classes are STOPPING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.... As the situation improves, we will update our community of when classes will recommence. During this time, we ask that, like any other disease or virus, everyone uses good hand and personal hygiene (hand washing with soap, coughing and sneezing into sleeves, isolating when sick) to prevent spread of the disease. If you have been overseas, please self isolate for 14 days as per government recommendations. If you have respiratory symptoms (sore throat, cough, runny nose) or fever AND have been overseas in the last 14 days OR been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, please contact your GP or local fever clinic for advice and/or testing IF you fit the testing criteria. 16.01.2022 Happy Lunar New Year everyone, from our Vovinam family to yours! May this coming year of the ox bring good health, happiness and prosperity to you and your loved ones! The perseverence we show now will eventually pay off and like the ox, 2021 will ride on the perseverence and sacrifices we made in 2020. 14.01.2022 Hi all, Happy new year to all! As part of trying to get Vovinam Queensland ready for 2021, we will be trialling our COVID safe plan AND new training times! Given the logistics of the operation, we will trial training sessions on Saturday 16, 23 and 30 Jan from 8am to 9.30am. Unfortunately, these sessions will ONLY be open to students blue III and above. Further training sessions will be listed on the Facebook page when relevant so our community can know when we will be back a...t full capacity again! Thanks for your patience and understanding! 12.01.2022 Hi Everyone! Vovinam Queensland is all about giving back to the community and we’d like your help for our annual Clean Up Australia Day event! For the last 5 years, we have run this event and we’d like to see as many old and new faces there as possible. So slip on some gloves, bang on a hat and get ready to make the parks greener than they ever were! For 2020, we will be at Nixon Park in Oxley for our annual event and look forward to seeing everyone there. Bring your friends..., bring your family and we’ll all give back to the community.
