25.01.2022 In recent years, the importance of Gut Health is becoming well known however sometimes it can be a little confusing to understand the difference between prebiotics and probiotics, and how we can include them in our diet. Both prebiotics and probiotics may sound similar but there is a key difference: Prebiotics are substances that humans can’t exactly digest so the beneficial bacteria in our gut eat the fiber from these foods - essentially these foods feed our good bacteri...a! Probiotics are live bacteria that can be found in certain foods and are significant health promoters. We need to focus on eating a balance of both prebiotics and probiotics, and can do so by including some of the food sources above. Our gut loves to be diverse so the more varied your food sources, the better!

17.01.2022 Protein is a building block that is essential for the overall functioning of our entire body. We need an adequate intake of protein every single day to support our muscle protein synthesis - which is vital for our training goals The biggest driver for muscle protein synthesis is something called ‘leucine’. Leucine is an amino acid that plays a role in beginning this process. We should be aiming to consume protein throughout the entire day, simply, at every meal. If you are ...training throughout the week and have specific performance goals, muscle composition goals or simply wanting to enhance your recovery - current evidence suggests that you should be consuming 1.6g-2.2g/kg daily. We need around 2-4g of leucine, which generally equates to 20-30g of protein. Aiming to consume 20-30g of protein every meal is recommended however eating anymore than 30g of protein in one sitting actually doesn’t provide you with any extra benefit in regard to our synthesis process so it is always best to have a minimum 3 hour window in between meals. If you are plant-based, it is important to remember that most plant based proteins are incomplete proteins meaning, they do not include all our essential amino acids, so its super important to ensure you are eating a range of sources! If you consume animal-based protein, remember to also include plant-based options for all your micronutrient needs ALSO you don’t need to always be tracking your food or protein intake but it can be helpful to track for a shot period of time to ensure you are hitting the recommended intakes and begin to learn which protein sources work for you

15.01.2022 4 weeks ago I decided I was sick of looking in the mirror and not liking what I seen. If you asked me 8 weeks ago to get out of bed and get motivated and go for a walk or to the gym I would have laughed and said another day. Today I really have noticed a change in the way I look, my mental health and just the confidence I have In myself. I know it’s not much but I am super proud of myself. Gym 5 days a week has really payed off. A big shout out to Brylee Angwin for telling... me to sign up at Voyge fitness leongtha, and introducing me to Dayna and Sasha who have helped boost my confidence, getting a work out plan done and just being super supportive in my journey to a happy and healthier life. if you are someone like me who has felt stuck in hole these past few months and needed a way out, I highly suggest becoming a member and speaking to a staff member. They have been nothing but great and welcoming and it’s made me want to come back each day, to see results with in a few weeks it’s amazing. I can’t wait to see what the future brings!
