24.01.2022 Ready to get back to the gym post-iso? Be sure to follow these tips from physios around Australia to make your return without injury as smooth as possible. Wa...rm-up and cool-down properly using stretching, foam-rolling and icing techniques to aid in your recovery. Drop your pre-iso weight by 20-30% and gradually increase the weight over four-eight weeks depending on your age and fitness level. Get your form checked by a professional and ensure you are controlled and slow in your repetitions. Don't go too hard, too early! Build up to your pre-iso levels as your muscles and tendons will have likely shrunk, making you more susceptible to injury. Check in with your local physio to avoid injury and manage your return to full capacity. For more recommendations from APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist Julie Campbell, MACP, and Brooke Patterson, APAM, on returning to the gym, head to https://ab.co/2XPA3Z6 #StayFitSaturday #gym #choosephysio #weekendworkout

21.01.2022 Meet Mark from Village Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic - Golden Grove Mark runs his medical clinic on level one of the Professional Suites and he has been ...running the business for 20 years, so it’s safe to say he knows his stuff. The last 16 years he has been at The Grove where customers can access his teams services conveniently. But Mark wasn’t always a physio believe it or not, he was actually an accountant for 10 years before moving into physiotherapy. Why the change? Well Mark was a keen soccer player and was amazed at how quickly the physio was able to get him back onto the pitch when he got an injury and he wanted to be able to help others like that, so the rest, as they say, is history! Mark says he loves helping people manage their pain and gets a lot of satisfaction from seeing customers progress and recover. The clinic sees about 300 patients a week, so Mark has made sure he has a solid team of people that also shares his passion. With his team of eight, covering all general physiotherapy concerns, as well as specialising in sports injuries. They also offer remedial massage, acupuncture and Pilates. The clinic has won multiple business awards, and support local sporting clubs and schools through sponsorship. They offer vouchers (massage vouchers are a great Father’s Day gift!) and sell resistance bands, pain relief creams and exercise equipment to help you recover quicker. Open until 7pm Monday to Thursdays, until 5pm Fridays and Saturday mornings, Mark has made it easy to make an appointment. So, if you’re feeling some twinges, give the clinic a call on 8251 4466 or simply book online and the team will help you feel better in no time!
