Bowel Cancer Awareness Month is a timely reminder for us all to be aware of any changes and especially for those aged 50 to 75 to screen for bowel cancer using a free, simple test at home. The good news is that if found early 9 out of 10 cases of bowel cancer can be successfully treated.... If you’re aged between 50 and 75 use your free, simple test at home. If you have any concerns talk to your GP or call the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program Infoline: 1800 118 868 Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm. 05.01.2022 In response to COVID-19, the Federal Government has introduced additional temporary medicare items numbers for telehealth consultations. Telehealth consultations may be suitable for repeat prescriptions and referrals, mental health support, chronic health care planning and general advice from your doctor to determine the appropriateness of face-to-face consultations. Scripts and referrals will be forwarded to a chemist or health provider of your choice. We are taking every precaution to maintain safety during these unprecedented times. Following a telehealth consultation, patients with suspected COVID-19 symptoms will be referred to the GP led COVID-19 testing clinic (Mid North Respiratory Clinic) located at Clare Medical Centre.
