25.01.2022 A New Year and a new beginning, T342 has had a quick makeover, no more El Zorro!

19.01.2022 As 2018 came upon us, many people used the holiday period to take it easy and relax. Wasn't the case for the volunteers at the Victorian Raiways! Over a few days over new years and last weekend a lot of work was carried out on T342. Work included reassembly of the speed increaser, cleaning the rust off the floor of the fan room, re connection of the main shaft and commencement of bodywork, cleaning out the rust in the channels of the engine room. Interested in helping with the restoration? Contact us for further information!

17.01.2022 Last week was a big week for the VR. T342’s wheels were swapped with T357, allowing the latter to run with P22 on standard gauge.

14.01.2022 T342 out shunting a couple of weeks ago, we sat and waited for the down Albury to pass us

14.01.2022 T342 and X31, nice combination!

14.01.2022 One from the archives. P classes 17, 23 and 16 ran a fodder special to Leongatha as train 9499 in May 1997. After running around their train and attaching the local flat tops, T342 and T345 the train heads through Ruby as train 9498 to Korumburra. Photo by Trevor Smith

12.01.2022 Small update this weekend. Work was carried out on the speed increaser, finally able to remove the shaft from the engine to increase access in the fan room. Removed parts were also cleaned up for inspection.

11.01.2022 I thought, given Covid and not a lot going on, that a trip down memory lane is in order. T342 pairs up with T345, then owned by the Moore brothers, as T345 was transferred to Korumburra for a little while to spend time on the now defunct South Gippsland Tourist Railway. Wouldn't it ne great to see two or more Flatties back out on the main together?!

08.01.2022 Our very much loved carriage 3BS will be part of SRHC's 80th Anniversary of the "Spirit of Progress" this coming Saturday. So proud of our team who have owned the carriage for in excess of 30 years now. We have been on the 60th and 70th Anniversary of the SOP, lets all hope we make it to the 90th and 100th!. Somewhere in this video is 3BS!

04.01.2022 Today T342 got sunshine for the first time since receiving its new paint, showing the improvements in all it’s glory. Still a little bit of work to be done to complete the body, but it is looking smart!

03.01.2022 Happy new year from the team at Victorian Railways. Have a great 2018!

03.01.2022 Works a couple of weekends ago, slowly getting there
