17.01.2022 Happy Australian Women's Day! A big thank you today, and everyday, to all the women that make our Rugby Club great - from our support staff, ViQueens, Mums, partners, and everyone in between. - To celebrate Australian Women's Day, we are hosting a meet and greet BBQ for our Gen Red girls this evening, to give them an opportunity to meet our senior ViQueens players and extended support staff network. - We will also continue our MEET THE GIRLS! profiling. We recently caught up ...with Janine Hayes, wife of Life Member, 1st Grade Manager and undisputed best costume dresser, Greg Hayes. - Name: Janine Hayes - Your involvement with the Vikings? By association really, over the many years Greg was a player and later became a Manager which he loves doing. I am very proud of his passion and commitment to the whole Club. - How many years have you been a part of the Club? About 29 years - where did that time go! - What got you involved with the Vikings? At first, new to Canberra, it was a way for both Greg and I to meet people and make new friends. We have supported the best Club in Canberra ever since. - Why do you love being a part of the Vikings? We have made some amazing friends over the years and it's great to catch up with great people like the Stripps, the Bryant's, Kathy Wentworth (Kinnane) to name a few, at Club functions. The 40th Anniversary Ball was a special event, but there are so many great memories of being part of celebrating the Clubs successes over the years - Thanks to Janine for her time. Happy Australian Women's Day everyone! See more

17.01.2022 Shed C is a hive of activity at training - this is where our players head to be strapped (some from head to toe) by our physios and sports trainers so that they can endure the rigours of training. While we credit the players tape jobs mostly to the strapper, its durability and effectiveness is dependent on a quality product. - We're lucky to be partnered with Elastoplast Australia & New Zealand, who provide our physios and sports trainers with the best medical supplies on the... market to keep our players safe and in the game. - The reliability of their products provides our physios and sports trainers with certainty on our player's safety, and makes the process of ordering sports tape that much easier, too! - Thanks to Elastoplast for sticking with us during a difficult year, and for ensuring our Club receives the best medical support in the game.
