16.01.2022 The registration portal for players wanting to play in next Saturday’s Old Boys Carnival is now open and we encourage you to register as soon as you are able. For instructions as to how to register, including a video link are attached below. We look forward to hosting the carnival next Saturday Players are strongly encouraged to register prior to the day. If they haven’t registered prior to the day, they can visit the VS Barbarians marquee and we will walk them through the pr...ocess on their phone. We will have a list of registered players on the day at the VS Barbarians registration tent for players to ‘check in’ and get their wristband. Every player partaking in the Old Boys matches must have a wristband. Players are to not take the field unless they’re registered, and any player who takes the field unregistered will not be covered by Rugby Australia Insurance. During the registration process, players will need to search for their ‘club’ eg. Search for ‘Brighton Old Boys Rugby Club’. Players will then need to select ‘player’ as their role, ‘XV Mens’ as their registration type and ‘Weekly’ as their duration. Please advise all players to NOT select ‘training only’ as their role. The registration cost will be $15 per player. Please see attached a how-to-guide for the registration process. 12.01.2022 Schools’ Rugby Network Following a very successful Schools Old Boys Rugby Carnival Day held in August 2018, a Committee is progressing the organisation of a Schools Old Boys and Girls Rugby Carnival Day on Sunday 24 February 2019, at Box Hill Rugby Club. The day is expected to start at 10am and will include matches of Boys and Girls Touch 7s and Boys 15 aside. ... The aim of the Carnival is for Old Boys and Girls to participate in rugby as players or supporters and therefore played in a social format with rolling substitutes, shorter halves and unrecorded scoring. Players will wear their School colours and will play in teams with their School colleagues or in teams formed on the day. The cost per player will be $15 to cover the match day insurance, Rugby Victoria Referees and medical staff. To date we have recorded interest from; Brighton Grammar, Marcellin, Melbourne Grammar, Trinity, Scotch and Xavier. We hope that other Schools will support this Rugby Carnival by forming teams or alternatively arriving on the day and be assigned to a team. Rugby Victoria will shortly be distributing a flyer with more information and instructions for registration and payment. The Rugby Carnival culminates with the Rebels Super W match versus the Brumbies, fixtured at Box Hill on the same day kicking off on Field 1 at 3pm therefore games will conclude before that to give time to prepare to support the Rebels. If you are interested in playing or attending this Rugby Carnival mark in your diary, Sunday 24th February, and watch for more communication and the Rugby Victoria Flyer. Please feel free to share this message to anyone you think interested.
