16.01.2022 Post-operative care . Scrunchy, pictured immediately following surgery, was well on her way to recovery when I checked in with her mum two days after her p...rocedure. . It’s my routine to call each patient a few days following surgery. Patients usually do not remember our discussions in the recovery bay so the call provides an opportunity to answer questions, reinforce instructions, and to check on recovery. . Some of my post-operative patients were surprised when I called them yesterday, at the beginning of the grand final long weekend One was sweetly concerned that I was ‘working’ on a public holiday, but I reassured her that it was for my benefit - I relax better after I have spoken with everyone . . Then it was off for adventures; including the first face to face meeting with grandparents for months! .
