25.01.2022 Last Thursday a select amount of year 7/8 REACH girls had their first rewards camp. The girls had a sleepover filled with games, ice breakers and finished it all off with a movie. It was great to see so many smiles on the girls faces and to get to know them all much better. Well done to all the girls for your hard work this term!

22.01.2022 Last week we had our final REACH rewards camp where we travelled to Dampier for 4 days. We kept busy the day with lots of activities including snorkelling, fishing, swimming, archery, concerts and many more. It was amazing to spend quality time acknowledging excellent attendance and positive behaviours at the school. We are so incredibly proud of their hard work and as a result they have been offered casual employment! Rob and myself are emphasising the importance of strong technique and continued movement. Special thank you to the Turtles Masters Football Club for their support in running the sausage sizzle and the Port Hedland Rovers for use of their facilities and the Swan District Football Club for their support with equipment. To the girls that played well done on the level of play by both sides. 14.01.2022 No netball season for Hedland this year - No problem. Around 35 - 40 students weekly from year 7 - 11 in the school have been participating in our V Swans Netball Tournament on a Wednesday afternoon 2:30 - 3:30. We have been playing a round robin carnival with Finals to come in Week 9 + 10. Great to see an awesome display of sportsmanship and skill out there. 12.01.2022 Term 2 Shooting Goals RECAP... Well done to all students for surviving Semester 1. Term 2 was good fun and went super fast!! We had all year groups 7 - 10 participate in there first 2020 SEPEP Competition. The girls done extremely well and was great to see the skills they are learning on display. We mixed in a little fitness, Sports carnival preparation, and topped it off with some dancing. Brock Edwards was the lucky winner of our V Swans Challenge - Participating in a wee...kly fitness and skill session to win our handy little prize pack. Our Year 10 Shooting Goals class got the exciting news of a South West Tour to cap off there final year in the program. The tour will be held 10th - 17th of October and will see us playing against Perth based netball teams and experiencing high caliber netball programs/ games in the big smoke. You may have seen the Year 10 shooting goals, girls, down at the AusKik helping out. The girls as part of a pre-requisite for the tour need to participate in volunteering within the community. We will be looking to fundraise this term so look out for our V Swans girls out in the neighborhood or if you have any ways to help them out please feel free to contact us. The Year 10 Shooting Goals class invited the Year 10 Kicking Goals boys to showcase their Netball skills in the final weeks of Term. We must say, the kicking goals boys definitely can hold there own on the netball court! Going into Term 3 we have some more exciting activities kicking off. The students will have the opportunity to participate in strength training programs, umpiring clinics, and an all-school netball tournament. 11.01.2022 Creating normality in Term 2 was a challenge in itself, but our Shooting Goals Year 7s used the best of there new learnt isolation skill to challenge the other classes and students of HSHS to Bring It! Miss Chapman decided what better way to get the students completing their fitness this Term then engaging with something they all love doing - TikTok! The class worked very hard to perfect one hand two hands challenge, (Posting in Comments) and put there creative side to the... test with a fresh boxing workout to Magic in the Hamptons." They definitely worked up a sweat and enjoyed the chance to bring a sense of community to the High School through a bit of friendly competition!
