20.01.2022 Our Jiu Jitsu and Karate Leadership Team is building fast and we had a strong showing at the Grappling Industries. Although competition is one of the focuses, it's not the only one; the Team learn advanced Martial Arts skills, gain leadership experience and get extra competition training. Our team has produced many State and National Champions, but everybody starts from the beginning. Congratulations to our little athletes who took the first steps. If you would like to enter your child in a competition, please speak to your coach about it!

20.01.2022 Our streaming classes went LIVE and gave parents at home a much needed break. Coaches may have had a little too much fun!

19.01.2022 VT1 hosted the AGIG comp in Sydney! We had over 70 females from different gyms come attend. It was the first time competing for many of them including the VT1 girls. Congratulations to all the girls who competed! A special mention goes to Charlie Walker for winning gold in her nogi division!

It has been such a great journey watching these mini martial artists transform as they put in the hard work each week. 14.01.2022 During the school holidays we like to offer the kids something a little different to challenge them; in the past we had Action Movie Camp, Star Wars Camp and this year it was The Samurai Warrior Camp. Every camp the kids [ Aged 4-10 ] learn Self Defense skills, Bully Proofing and a variety of other life skills, but the really fun part is the Movie Making. Utilising their Iphones, some basic software and their brilliant creativity, we work them to make some fun mini-movies t...hey can show their friends. This one was titled "The Sword Collector". Next Holidays will be even more fun as we have something ** Super Special ** in store for them - The Zombie Survival Camp!

08.01.2022 Over the weekend we held our second Samurai Cup. Children competed in karate and jiu-jitsu with our special guests from ICC gym joining us. Our competitors aged from 4 up and everyone brought a positive spirit to the tournament. We want to thank the parents who took time out of their busy weekends to be there and support their children and everyone else who competed! We are very proud of all the kids who competed. The standard of jiu-jitsu and karate was exceptional across all ages!

06.01.2022 Meet one of our karate coaches - Kai Tsujihama I started training shotokan karate when I was 5 years old until I was around 12 and had my 2nd Kyu brown belt. I then stopped training in high school as I started playing representative basketball, then picked up karate again at the age of 17. Karate has taught me many things, such as respecting my coaches and peers, the discipline towards the art, consistency in training and the importance of having strong foundations. All thes...e lessons are life skills that I have been able to apply outside of the gym and lessons that I believe are important for everyone to learn. The highlight for me as a coach is seeing kids walk out of the gym with a new found confidence and a smile on their face. My hope is that my students will be able to learn the life skills I had the opportunity to learn through martial arts and apply it in everything they do in life. #coaches #vt1coaches #vt1team

Juniors have two forms of grading: 1. New Coloured belts 2. Skill & Character Patches. Each level unlocks new skills, challenges and/or new classes! If your child is eligible to grade for their next patch, their coach will give them an invitation to grade in class. Please speak to Coach Nici if you have any enquiries about grading!
